  1. Hi AMACk, From all the posts I have read on this topic nothing conclusive has been found out and all the dealerships find nothing wrong In my experience with my 23 plate I find the engine is not as tolerant as other engines/cars I have driven and cuts out when in a too higher gear when the revs are low. Mine cut out today when I was in 3rd and maybe I should have been in 2nd, other cars/engines it would have been fine, that's the best way I can describe it with my experience with this engine. All the best, let me know what you think
  2. I agree on that as I have changed the way I drive my car in comparison to the way I drove other makes and different engines some seem more tolerant to be in higher gears at slower speeds than the 1.5 TSI.
  3. From when I personally have no idea but I think it is a long ongoing problem, I must admit my car only does it occasionally.
  4. From what I can gather it is the same on all the 1.6 TSI manual cars being it Skoda,VW or Seat. So anybody wishing to buy a used car of that spec maybe should think twice. Mine is a year old today so will keep for awhile longer before trading in.
  5. Hi gumdrop, mine did that today when a car suddenly braked in front of me, I think most cars are fitted with that, certainly my last three cars had it.
  6. Hi Karasu, Couldn't agree more with you but it seems nobody wants to admit there is a problem with that particular engine in manual I will keep it for awhile longer and trade in for something else. Ken
  7. Hi chieflordy, Think that is the answer ,get into 2nd when approaching junction or roundabout and keep the revs up to normal 800/1000, seems to be working for me
  8. Hi Karasu, I agree I have started making a point in getting down the gears and keeping the revs up and it seems to help. Today it cut out when slowing down to a crawl and still in 3rd it didn't like that.
  9. Hi Nottslan, No not reported as I was unaware of that
  10. Hi Bikerp, Wish I had done the same when mine first started cutting out but due to me being my wife's carer I didn't bother thinking it would resolve itself anyway 10 months on I will persevere and get rid in the near future.shame as I like the car. Ken
  11. Good luck cannot remember but is your car just a few months old.
  12. Good luck Paul,y car is now coming up to the 1year old, the most frustrating thing is it only happens very occasionally. Possibly I will get rid soon than later, shame as the car is ideal with the large boot for wife's wheelchair. Ken
  13. Hi logiclee, Regards the auto on/off for me it seems to make no difference. Also didn't realise regards brake pedal or accelerator, I put the brake on and press start, will try what you do next time
  14. Much appreciated would like to know.
  15. Best of luck, from what I can gather not many have any success,I have mine booked in at the end of the month. Like you I thought likewise also tried disengaging the start stop but made no difference. My Karoq is 10 months old
  16. It is quite possible think I was in third and it just cut out
  17. I quite agree I have over 60 years of driving with different makes and never experienced the like, from all other poste it seems I will get no joy from Skoda.
  18. I have been trying the same for the past week or so, then a couple of days ago it cut out again on a roundabout and I feel I was in to high a gear for the revs.
  19. Hi chieflordy, Are you getting anything done about it.
  20. My Karoq is less than a year old
  21. Hi Missph, Likewise I don't hold up much hope after the conversation I had with them when booking the car in. I get the impression from others that it is possibly staying in too high a gear and revs low when navigating a roundabout or approaching a junction.
  22. Hi sussamb, Your lucky then, it doesn't happen that often but when it does it's usually on a busy roundabout or junction got it booked into Skoda at the end of the month.
  23. Hi Adamwood, Good point, certainly wasn't taught to drive that way many years ago it just seemed to happen some years ago and have started using the gears as taught with the hope it will help with the problem a lot of us are experiencing.
  24. Hi chieflordy, Interesting theory from nottslan as that is the way I drive, will have to give it a go going down the gears one at a time. Ken2
