Steering vibration turning at low speed - 2021 VRS
Update on this! Hendy Skoda in Bournemouth have deemed that the juddering is due to a faulty steering rack. We picked it up today and it’s had a new steering rack fitted under my extended warranty and can confirm this has sorted the issue.

Steering vibration turning at low speed - 2021 VRS
When I bought mine it had 2 months left of the original manufacturers warranty, but as I bought it approved used, it came with a 2 year approved used warranty. I’m yet to get my VAQ diff serviced, so I’ll let Skoda do these consol bushes, then in the new year I’ll get the VAQ diff serviced and see where I’m at. It bothers my mrs more than me, must be her driving ! I’m just worried that if it is gearbox related I’ll let it go and it’ll go out of warranty eventually and then it’ll proper mess up.

well, I’ve just put 4 new continental sport contact 7s on my vrs and it’s still doing the judder. so I can tell you it’s not tyre related. Mines booked into Skoda as they have diagnosed it has worn consol bushes which is causing the judder. It’s now a case of me just following process, I know it’s not the bushes causing it and I’ve had a local VAG special tell me it’s more likely the rack or the gearbox. So I’ll let Skoda replace the bushes under warranty and then go from there.

Steering vibration turning at low speed - 2021 VRS
Mine does it pretty much all the time, both right and left at nearly full lock, but it’s only at very low speed , almost just a dip of the throttle so it’s really noticle at certain manoeuvres, pulling out a driveway etc. it’s exactly what that guys did and the video he posted back near the start of this post. and obviously he said Skoda replaced the gearbox. which is concerning. I suppose it could be the VAQ diff, mine definitely hasn’t been serviced and it’s just over 3 years old now and about to hit 30K.

Steering Judder at near full lock very low speed.
Hi guys, I’m facing a bit of a battle with the dealership with my 2021 vRS DSG. It’s suffering from this horrible steering judder at near full lock when manoeuvring at really low speed. I have seen another user has experienced this, and I believe the outcome was a replacement DSG gearbox done through warranty. I bought the car approved used back in May, so it has a 2 year extended used warranty. The dealership I’m dealing with say it’s worn Consol bushes which is causing the issue. I’ve had an independent VAG specialist sit in the car and watch this judder occur and he believe it is no way the bushes causing this judder. He thinks it’s more than likely gearbox or even an issue with the steering rack. my question to you all is firstly has anyone else experienced this with there mk4 Octavia, more specifically a DSG vrs? And secondly what would people best advise to tackle this issue with the dealer? Follow the process ? Get them to replace the bushes and show them it’s still doing the judder ? Or go straight to Skoda UK. ? The car has been nothing but trouble since May with a gearbox selector failing (fixed through warranty), and a broken spring clip on a brake pad destroying a rear disc.

Thanks. I imagine the files will be able to be downloaded directly from ODIS onto a usb stick?- Update to Version 1969
hi guys, new here on this forum. I’ve just bought a 2021 Octavia vrs. When the wife and myself were test driving it, we noticed the pop pop sound, and although nothing SOS related popped up on the screen it’s obvious we need to update the system. I believe it’s running on 18 something, can’t remember. I have access to ODIS the VAG dealer tool, possibly a silly question but I imagine I can update the firmware and software through the dealer tool ? can anyone confirm this, or will I still need to download the update files and install via the USB port ? - Update to Version 1969
