OBD2 socket in Fabia mk4
Well guys, I have spent around 30 minutes looking and taking photos but still canāt see ****dy OBD2 socket. I can see the fuses behind little storage box on right side of steering, common sense tells me it should be somewhere near the fuses which connect most of electrical stuff, but frustratingly no sign of it. Sorry the photo exceeds 1.85mb so canāt attach it

OBD2 socket in Fabia mk4
I thought so as well because Iāve used older Fabia and Citigo which are fairly easy to find and use, but Mk4 is totally different layout. Only thing I can do is remove some plastic covers underneath fascia. I appreciate your help and thanks again.

Thanks for the link but the car shown in video is not Mk4, itās an older Fabia. I have looked in all the obvious places but no success.

OBD2 socket in Fabia mk4
I have searched on this site as well as you tube and google, but unfortunately canāt find the location for OBD2 socket in my Fabia mk4, 2022 model. I have located the inside fuses by removing little storage box on right side of steering column, but canāt see or feel the OBD2 socket anywhere. Can someone please help me find it and preferably with a picture to show where the OBD2 socket is. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Hello from a frugal friend
Here is another link with video review to confirm that you have made the best choice for your money. https://www.parkers.co.uk/skoda/fabia/review/ Did you checkout the hidden umbrella in driverās door and an ice scraper in the petrol filler cover, Skoda call it āSimply Cleverā, OK Iāll stop now before I bore you to distraction.

Hello from a frugal friend
I am so happy that you have enjoyed what sounds like a brilliant long drive in your new toy. Sorry to be curious/nosey 𤪠what is current mileage on your new toy because I know these engines get quieter and smoother after about 15-20 thousand on clock as the various cogs and bits get to know you intimately. The SOS button dials the emergency services in case of an emergency using carās āSkoda Connectā automatic phone system and also your location via GPS. I have attached a link to YouTube video showing how it works as well as to an article by Parkerās Guide. If someone pressed it accidentally, you will get a message where you can cancel it, but at least you find out itās working You can also access the ownerās instructions manual on your Infotainment system in the car which is helpful in exploring various useful functions. https://www.parkers.co.uk/what-is/sos-button/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpnfjeZg6sk Have a Great Weekend exploring šļøš

Front Headrests removal
You are absolutely correct, I tried in vain more than 20 times so finally went to Skoda dealer and they removed both headrests in less than 15 minutes and for first time in my life I got something without paying any of their sky high hourly labour charges .

Hello from a frugal friend
Vow š thatās great news, Congratulations, Iām sure you will enjoy using it as much as I have. SEL is definitely better specification than Colour Edition , did you check if you have a spare wheel or is it a repair kit. I have always gone for a spare wheel and when I bought current car I made it clear to Skoda dealer that no spare wheel, no deal and within 5 minutes he found a spare wheel. Itās amazing what car dealers will do when they are desperate to sell a car. I am really pleased for you and canāt wait to hear about your experience with your precious new purchase.

Key fob battery
I had same message approx. 6 weeks after I got my car and was surprised to see it with both keys, which would be too much of a coincidence. I got a generic battery from local diy shop and replaced in one of the keys, this made the message disappear for both keys. However within 2 months the message was back again !!!, so I got a couple of expensive Duracell batteries and replaced in both keys. This made the message disappear again and now Iām keeping my fingers crossed. I think the warning system is a bit too sensitive to small drop in battery power.

Front Headrests removal
I thought other members may have come across this issue when trying to fit seat covers to front seats. I got new seat covers for my Fabia Mk4 and tried to remove the Headrests on front seats but found it impossible to remove them, as they slide up and down but wouldnāt come out completely. I had to go to local Skoda dealer where a mechanic used a secret button!!! In the back approx. 4 inches from top of the seat. You have to feel for this button under fabric, press it down with all your strength and pull the headrest up at the same time. I think it was a two man job, done in less than 15 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised that they didnāt ask for any money !!! I would like to hear from anyone else who had similar experience.

Hello from a frugal friend
Sorry about delay in responding to your last question about upholstery, It is average fabric nothing special. I always put new seat covers on any car I buy to protect the original upholstery. One thing to mention about seat covers is that it is almost impossible to remove the front headrests. I had to go to local Skoda dealer and used a secret button!!! In the back approx. 4 inches from top. You have to feel for this button under fabric, press it with all your strength and pull the headrest up at the same time. I think it was a two man job, done in less than 15 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised that they didnāt ask for any money !!! I have also added comments on economy in the āmpgā post which may be useful to read.

mpg
Iāve had 110 Tsi with 6 gears, getting best economy on long motorway journeys around 62mpg, and worst around town with stop/start around 40 mpg. I use high gears including 6th as much as possible. I prefer to use the momentum and avoid heavy braking when approaching red traffic lights and busy junctions, roundabouts etc. I would advise any driver to try and get some driver training with local IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) , it will save you a lot of money by reducing your fuel and repair bills in the long term, plus make you a better/safer driver. You can also use IAM membership to reduce you insurance costs with some reputable insurance companies.
