Earlier this week there was a loud bang and bits started to fall off from beneath our 2000 Fabia 1.4. Took it in to a non Skoda garage and they identified an off-side front shocker spring having broken and gouged away at the top support bearing. Broken bits were replaced and all is well.
However, since then the front lights and dash light have been flickering while cold and can hear the PAS pump changing speed while stationary. Apply a bit of pressure to the wheel and it stabalises. Once warm is ok. Stearing gets light, etc.
Now both of the above are mentioned in several threads in this forum but I was wondering, as I have never experienced this flickering thing before, could the spring breakage or perhaps the actions of the mechanics have caused the PAS sensor to play up?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Just to help others in the same situation, here's my history:
The result? Perfection! I can't say which was the culprit but I suspect it was a combination of both the tracking and the tyres as it pulled when the original Conti's where on the front and it has always felt vague when pushed in the corners - now it feels planted, well, as planted as a stock car can be.
The only downside is that I now have to actually apply force to the steering wheel to go round left hand bends :-(
