  1. Hello everyone I decided to update my 2014 Skoda Octavia to a newer age. First changed the MIB1 to MIB2, and then decided to add a rear view camera (there are other projects on the way like MFK1 to MFK2). I want to tell the story so someone else does not make the same mistakes I did. My Skoda never had a camera, so I bought one from a scrapyard, a 3V0827566N without the wiring harness, it scrapped with the body. But since I had no wiring I needed a harness, contacted Skoda Parts, got no concrete info, lost trust. Local dealer offered a part that cost 103€ with extra cables I did not need. So like any capable guy I decided to make one myself. My MIB2 unit was off a RS that had a camera, but a low line one. So I went to the scrapyard and spent a day, dismantling the RS to get the wiring loom for the low line, took me about 5h. Then I bought white and yellow automotive wire, 10m. I used a cordless drill to spin it into a CAN bus data line and used a whole roll of TESA fabric tape to wrap the whole harness into a neat looking one. I routed the cables from back to front, but there was a problem. The 3V0827566N had an 8 pin connector with 5 populated pins, while the RS camera used a 4 pin connector with 2 populated pins. The 3V0827566N uses: pin 1 red pin 4 red pin 5 black pin 6 brown pin 8 blue I searched but could not find a pinout for that socket. Looking at it I did see that pin 4 and pin 8 are kind of twisted around each other. But red cant be high line, can it? Well, no info found in the internet, I turned to ChatGPT, left that fast and turned to Gemini. Long story short, I got a pin out: pin 1 Terminal 15 pin 4 Terminal 30 pin 5 CAN low pin 6 GND pin 8 CAN HIgh Amazing, lets freaking go and finish this! I trusted the info, made sense and I had no other info to prove it wrong. Hindsight zooming in on the actual wires from Skoda Parts could have helped a ton. So the rest is history, I hooked up the camera, coded the values using OBDeleven 3 PRO. So I put the car in reverse, black picture and no Control Unit for the camera, but 55 errors related to communication. I unhook the CAN lines and measure 8V between the lines. Turns out: pin 4 and 8, red and blue are the CAN lines, red High and blue Low pin 1, red is Terminal 15 pin 5, black is ground. So the camera is not working any more, I do not know if it worked before, but I`m sure sending 12V down the CAN high line did not help it work any better. After about 1000€ if you count the time and food and fuel, I`m here to tell you, order the damn harness (3V0 054 634 C) or learn form my mistakes and DIY. Peace!
  2. Hello mates, Hello ladies too if any of you have knowledge. I need a DPF for my 2014 Skoda Combi 2.0 110Kw. The issue I am having, is that I found a part with low mileage and not far and reasonable price. Looking at my VIN number, there are two that will fit: 04lL131 601 GX 04lL131 606 EX But If any of you could help out with the question if this part would also fit: 04L 131 723 CT This is from 2015 Passat 2.0 110KW. Any help and advice is highly appreciated.
