  1. From my research (just picked up a 6 month old vRS estate) the new Octavia won't include a vRS initially, but will follow the initial launch - I'm not aware of the timescales though. So current options are to buy pre-reg/unregistered left over stock of the mk4, or wait X months for the new vRS
  2. Just means the camera can still be powered/record whilst the car is unattended. So if a typical motorist hits you in a carpark, and drives off, most camera's will either detect the bump and save a recording of the incident, or be continuously recording. It's usefulness depends on how you use the dashcam I guess, but for me the extra security of catching a numberplate/description if someone damages my car without witnesses, it's worth it.
  3. Because as far as I've understood, that port is only powered on ignition. So as soon as the ignition is off and car is locked, the camera won't have power for parking mode?
  4. Ah that's great info for me to get stuck in with the multimeter- thanks beasty, much appreciated!
  5. Sorry to revive an old post, but do you remember/know which fuses you puggybacked off? I've got a garmin mini 2 and looking to hardwire it into the fusebox to utilise parking mode too
  6. Hi all 👋 New here, picked up my 2023 Octavia vRS TSI yesterday (it's Hyper Green, please feel free to judge me!). Less than 2 miles from the dealership and noticed the engine light on. Diagnostics this morning shows it's an intermittently sticking intake manifold flap. Just curious if this is a "common/known" fault for these cars? Searching the forum I've seen it a few times for the Mk2 cars but not the Mk4. Part is on order and being fitted asap, as it was their demo I'm assuming 6 months of infrequent, aggressive test drives (including myself...) have taken their toll!
  7. @mczakk how did you go about getting the oem camera installed and who installed it? I'm looking at buying an Octavia estate and am based in south wales, so keen to get this done but Bridlington is quite a drive!😅
