My 2015 Octavia mk3 vrs diesel, 97,000 miles has had an intermittent, momentary power loss for several months, described elsewhere as a 'hiccup', 'glitch', etc. at any speed, any gear, any time. No engine management light, so no fault codes, where to begin? I am no mechanic but began with terracleaning the fuel system which, 22 miles later, lit up the EML with the fault code for the Lamda sensor. Yippee, easy job, £95 for a Bosch lamda + £14 for the special 22mm socket. The old lamda WAS covered in soot. Replacing it brought back the 'proper' sharp vrs performance, the EML disappeared. ..but the hiccup persisted. What now? I read somewhere, I think on here, suggesting the crankshaft sensor so, at only £25 for a Febi one + £40 for fitting at a local 1-man gargage, I went for it. Since, in 4 journeys & 62 miles....no hiccup!! Sorry that I couldn't find the suggestion again but, whoever it was, THANKYOU!👍
