  1. I wanted to thank @Breezy_Pete for his patience with me going off on a little wild goose chase and for providing the info that stopped me. Thank you very much, Sir.
  2. Thank you kind sir and apologies for the hassle. I looked through the long list and there were about three that seemed possible but I didn't want to litter.
  3. Hello all! I hope everyone's doing well and no one's been arrested for drunk driving whilst trying to avoid potholes! Can you give me a hand please?! Car failed MOT because of a broken headlight mechanism inside the light assembly. Apparently there are none in the UK. And I'm barred from driving the car because of the failed MOT; not what I expected because the car's below 5 years old bought from main dealer a year or so ago. It's near/passenger side headlamp. The existing headlight has label with code "957 941 019" (without a doubt) not the 657 941 019 that is the part number I expect per ChatGPT. I don't understand the difference in the leading 6/9. I can't seem to upload the photo I have in this message; maybe it's because I'm new which is fair enough. Help me out please. Where (which section?) should I post this here for help finding one; I can't drive the car because it's failed the MOT. I've tried the people at skoda parts direct? When they say they've got the part available, what they mean is they'll ring someone in Europe and try and order it and you wait 2 weeks If they find one. Turns out word definitions have changed. I've tried eBay, but as you might have guessed if there's none in the UK, they're only broken ones on eBay. Thank you in advance Al
  4. Thank-you for your reply. To be honest I haven't seen the Skoda dealers England yet. Thank you for the link.
  5. Dear all ** Mods, move this to a more appropriate place if possible. ** Have a service to do before the end of the warranty. My local Skoda dealer is crap for service, but gets a (five star) good Google Maps rating because they are good at selling cars. The service comments tell another story. Does anyone know of list of trusted dealers for service by area (I'm in Bucks) for our cars? I'm minded to go to a dealer for service this one time. If not, and you're in Bucks or surrounding counties, with a decent local dealer please let me know. Thank-you in advance. Al
  6. Hello Happy_owner! Glad you're enjoying it! I'm really delighted too. The lane-discipline thing isn't as bad as I was expecting, the Vauxhalls I have driven with it in were really brutal. It's a bit disconcerting on country lanes - there are many where I am - and it will often steer me towards a hedge, or the other 'lane', when it focuses on a groove in the road that isn't a centre line. What have you done about dashcams? First dashcam needed here. Do you have that magic USB socket on the rearview mirror base? Enjoy! Al.

  8. Hello all. Ok, I might have lied. Just brought a new-to-me Scala 2021. Very impressed. Had a new leased 2011 VW Passat, and shared new 2016 golf, a while ago and have been VAG fan for many years. I'm an old fart now who has always been thirty his whole life. Here presently to find out about dashcams, the mysterious USB rearview mirror socket and general hints and recommendations. Have a good'un all. Stay alert. This country needs lerts.
