I have the same. In all gears I can hear this low volume high frequency whistling sound. Most apparent in 2nd and 3rd gear at around 2,200-2,800 rpm. Holding the gas pedal very still for a while in this rpm with very little throttle makes the sound appear. Adding more throttle or releasing it the sound disappears immediately. I recorded the sound with the cellphone in the engine room but the sound isn’t louder there. It seems as it comes from between the engine room and the cabin, towards the passenger side. very annoying sound. Especially when driving in town where you often use low throttle and gear 2 and 3.

@ J.R. , this sounds interesting. Can you explain some more about this? I am not sure what I should look for and locate. And What to do if located? This whisteling high frequency sound (although at a low level) is really disturbing.

I drive a Karoq 2020 manual. We bought it three years old and after one or two weeks we started hearing a squeaking sound, high frequency (similar to the sound you hear in devices that should scare away a mouse). The sound is not always there. Only on light throttle, and never when the car stands still. I hear it on all gears with very light throttle. It is most evident when in gear 2 or 3 at around 2,000-3,000 rpm. Very very annoying for a car that is only 3/4 yrs old and only rolled about 37,000 km. The squeak or squeak disappears either by taking the foot off the accelerator or pressing it harder. I can almost always reproduce the noise using a light throttle, in 3rd gear, around 2,200 rpm. I have no hearing problem nor am I too sensitive but the squealing sound is truly there. My wife hears it, my children, and my friends. The guy at the mechanics also heard it but says he can’t find what it is, where it is exactly, somewhere in the right front probably. I am to leave the car at the mechanics for one week but I doubt they will locate the problem unless it gets really worse. I believe it has to do with something that connects to the throttle/gas/accelerator because the squeal goes away directly when taking the foot of the accelerator, or adding more gas. The sound is on a very light throttle. Surely, someone has isolated the problem and solved it?
