DPF ON CAR CLEAN ADVICE XX
Thanks for this, yeah car on 200k aswell as being old lol. About a year ago it was just regening all the time like every 10 miles it was unmanageable so I try to take it on good run when it regens. Everyone said a year ago oh you need a new dpf or have to get it mapped out etc etc. I stook at it with put cleaner in and eventually it unblocked as was back to regen every 200 miles or so. Now a year later it's getting a bit clogged am hoping to make it last until around February when hopefully I will get it taken off like you suggest. As it's the only real way of getting the ash out. Would clean it myself but where it is located is a bit beyond my DIY skills lol. But cheers 👍

DPF ON CAR CLEAN ADVICE XX
Put cleaner through my 14 plate 1.6 TDI DPF via the pressure pipe and it seemed to go ok. However I don't have the equipment to reset the dpf values. Does that matter?? What would be the cheapest equipment or way of me performing that action ??? Or anyone around Liverpool city region able to help me out ?? For a bob or two of course. Any help or advice greatly appreciated 👍 👍

COOLER HELP PLZ
In need of some advice plz 👍 14 plate 1.6tdi on 200k been intermittently getting P0401over last 6 weeks or so. Car still runs fine no limp mode or anything but I have had to slightly top up the coolant once or twice too. Which suggests the cooler I think ?? Noticed abit of residue at bottom of engine around the rubber mount too unfortunately. Am I right in thinking this engine has 2 EGRs a high and low with cooler ?? Do both have to be replaced?? Where is best to acquire cooler as I dont want to use dealer ?? Any advice greatly appreciated 👍👍

VAG DPF APP Reliability ???
Thanks for reply 👍 Yeah gets an Italian tune a couple of times a week to be fair. Was told the only real way of getting rid of ASH was have the DPF took off and progressively cleaned?? Maybe cos ash content is high it can only tolerate so much soot then it's rising so quickly. But thanks again 👍👍

VAG DPF APP Reliability ???
Hi all hope your all well and your motors to. Looking for some advice or feedback on the dpf vag app please. Just how reliable are the figures on the data ?? Reason I ask is I know that historically the DPF tends to regen when the soot mass calc gets to around 20.0. Now I've been using the app to monitor the running of the dpf and when I check it. The soot mass calc will say 4.97 so I think I've got a few good miles before I gets close to 20.0 mark for regen and I try and plan it for a longer journey. Problem is when I get a few yards down the road after checking it at 4.97 the car to my suprise starts to regen. So I immediately pull over and check the soot mass reading again and it's rocketed to like 22.0 in just a few yards from around 4.97. Am I missing something or am I looking at a dodgy sensor somewhere??? I know my oil ash is high and it will have to be addressed at some point. Thanks in advance for reading and any advice is very much 👍 👍.

DPF Sensor advice& learning please
So am trying to learn and understand the workings of my cars dpf and would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance please. This is because of late the dpf is regening alot more than it use to. I have DPF VAG app to help me monitor the health/performance of the DPF. The oil ash is very high and is close to it's limit before I have to take action. Am assuming that's why it's regening alot more than what it's use to ??? All the information on the app got me very curious to know the full workings of the dpf and got me wanting to know if all the sensors are actually ok ?? How many related sensors are there ?? I know there is a diff sensor for before and after pressure. I know there is 2 oxygen sensors also one in dpf and one in exhaust. Is there a temperature sensor also ?? A sensor for reading the soot to ??? I have also heard talk of vaporisers in connection with dpf will mine have one of those to ?? Sorry if I come across clueless am just eager to learn about the workings of a part that as am sure you know is remarkably expensive to replace. Thanks in advance for reading and any advice is greatly appreciated 👍 👍

Stereo screen failure any help plz???
Hi all hope all is well with your motors and 2025 is treating you well. In need of some advice/guidance when it comes to the stereo screen on my father's mk3 1.2 SE on 60k please. Still get power to the screen but it's a scorched line appearance constantly on the screen and been like this a few days now. Any advice on how to go about fixing if possible would be great. Are these units prone to failure?? Am on my 4th Octavia my last one was even 14 years old and still had original stereo with no problem. If it needs a replacement unit are there any good aftermarket ones with reverse camera capability that anyone knows of etc etc ?? As I see alot of people acquiring from Ali express and Amazon lately. Thanks for reading and any advice greatly appreciated 👍 👍

DPF REGEN ADVICE PLEASE
14 plate 1.6tdi Man 195k. So my car is regenerating a lot more than it used to. Like every 60-70 miles where as use to be more like every 100 or a bit more. Soot gets to mid twenties then it goes into regeneration but only reduces to about 15. So am concerned and aware that replacing the dpf can be expensive. So any advice on how to help the dpf to re gen better rather than replace is greatly appreciated. I am aware of additives and dpf cleaning services but I have heard alot of unconvincing stories. Thanks for reading and thanks for any advice 👍👍

VENTILATION ISSUE BLOWER CLICK NOISE
Strange clicking noise when I put my blower on hot the clicking doesn't appear to happen on cold. I am aware there are several actuators/motors in the vent system but am not sure which one it is. The noise feels like it's from behind stereo or behind the dials. Would really like some guidance or advice before I delve into opening it up to find the faulty part. Is it doable for a basic diy person like me ?? Any help or assistance greatly appreciated 👍 👍

STIFF/SNATCHY REV MANUAL GEAR
Yeah I've noticed the slower and gentler you are with the reverse gear there is alot less stiffness. Before the job was done tho there was no need to pause it just slid in and out very easily. Think I will get it re calibrated to make sure there is no cable/linkage issues. Thanks for reply 👍

STIFF/SNATCHY REV MANUAL GEAR
Hi I have a 14 plate 1 6 TDI that's done a 190k and I acquired the car 18 months ago. When I purchased the car the seller made me aware of a small noise that came from the gearbox. And the car was priced accordingly knowing there was a slight issue with the manual trans. It really didn't concern me as the car drove great thru all gears but occasionally on L hand turn. If sharp there would be a slight noise. I knew at some point it would need dealing which I was totally fine with. I managed to make the box and existing box/clutch last a further 18 months (clutch had been about 1 year before me). Until the noise got to much for me to tolerate and it was time to replace box/clutch. I got a 2nd hand box and Sach clutch and got a professional to fit it. When I picked the car up from the work it drove brilliantly apart from reverse gear which was stiff and crunchy/snatchy at times. If used very slowly and softly it was a smooth transition to rev gear. But thats nit always possible when in car parks and in a hurry etc etc. The previous box had no issues at all when it came to rev gear it was always smooth as it needed to be. So I thought it was an issue with the 2nd hand box I'd acquired and the supplier agreed to exchange it. So replacement box put on with Sach clutch and the car still has the same issue. You have to be really slow and soft with reverse otherwise it's very stiff/notchy. Mechanic is abit miffed like myself as to why the rev gear is different to what it used to be. I know it's not the box and the clutch is new so what else could it be ?? Slave and master seem ok a new master was put in around 12 months ago. Do these cars suffer with any linkage issues at all ?? Thanks for reading my bit of if a long story and any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you 🙏

Hi all on my 4th Octavia 👋👋
On my 4th Octavia and my present car is a MK3 which I really like. It's easily the best looking Octavia since they where launched. But sadly not as robust as previous models.
