Good Evening Chaps Thought I would give you an update. I didn't want to post too early at the risk of jinxing the situation. So I've fixed my problem. It's been 2 months now and not an issue. I was getting multiple jolts a day some serious some minor. So I was travelling to work one day and it happened the worse it has since I've owned the car and it actually threw up a fault. Engine speed sensor. It didn't indicate whether it was crank or cam sensor so I swapped them both. Its the best its ever run since I've owned the car so I pretty sure it was a fault that was getting worse over time. It even starts first time and doesn't stutter which makes absolute sense now. I hope this helps you sort the issue if your still experiencing it. I know it might not be the fix to your problems but it's worth a shot for less than £200 if you do it yourself. Cheers Josh

I've just checked the battery status FYI Get in car Close all doors Start engine Leave for 5 / 10 seconds Turn engine off Press and hold 0.0/Set button (You trip mileage comes back so not to worry about it resetting) Release when battery shows Apologies if im teaching you to suck eggs Mine seems okay at 70% but that was after a 20 min ride back from work on dual carriage ways. I may invest in a new battery especially before the winter months come along. I'll wait for a reply from Skoda and see what they have to say first Cheers Josh

Thanks for both getting back to me. It's appreciated Please keep me updated if you find a faulty sensor. I've contacted Skoda technical and asked them to contact me regarding the issue. I'll keep you posted on their response. Just had a OEM fuel filter installed and added Millers Oil Injector Cleaner to a full tank along with the cam belt and water pump done at the same time. The garage reported to me that the timing was one tooth out. Normally it would do the sudden loss of power (as if someone is pressing the brake pedal hard) 3 times in a row. Kind of jolting the car forward. Since the work at the garage about a week a go it did a very slight jolt. No where near as bad. Barely noticeable so unsure whether the above had resolved it or not. Just out of curiosity does it sometimes take 3 or 4 seconds for the car to start? This only seems to happen over night. Earlier on this thread someone did mention a bad battery could be the issue. Have you replaced the battery? Many thanks Josh

Just bought a 2014 Octavia Estate VRS with 99k on the clock I'm experiencing this exact issue. I've seen you posted in Nov 2023 I'm just wondering wheather the problem returned or the skoda diagnostic sorted it? Many thanks in advance.
