Hello, someone might have read this topic made by me about changing the gearbox, ( this new topic is basically the "sequel" to the old one ) anyways When the generic mechanic opened the original gearbox, he found everything in good shape, nothing broken or worse. so he told us not to change the gearbox and gave us the car back. ( Note: the skoda service center said it had to be replaced at a mindblowing 7500 €, thats why we told them to pack it up to bring it to the generic mechanic, the car drove fine for around 200km- ish ) This evening, after a roundabout, the gears would not engage, basically the car was forced in neutral, after stopping to the side we engaged the reverse gear, then shifted through all the gears to try and "debug" it, it actually worked and we could continue driving. after about 1.5 km or so the same thing happened, so we did the same thing but when i arrived to 5th and 6th, they would not engage, not even a chance, but we didnt need them at these slow city speeds, so we continued again. When i arrived home we couldnt engage 1st, so again we did the same thing and magically all the gears began to engage normally. What the hell is happening here?! i was told the gearbox was fine and it now gives these issues? ( Note that the Clutch was replaced by the service center ) anyone has a clue on what this car has?
