Thanks Alasdair - will do. Having had the fluid changed on Saturday we now know it is at the maximum level in header bottle, so we'll be able to see if it drops. I really appreciate your advice.

Thanks Alasdair. We've done the lubricant of the linkages just now and we'll see how it goes. When the issue occurs the clutch pedal comes back up my itself - certainly doesn't need to be lifted. It's a tricky little issue this as it only done it intermittently - half a dozen times over the summer. Thanks again - I'll keep this post going whatever happens, as it may help others.

Hi everyone. My son bought a 2023 Skoda Scala 1.0 TST Monte Carlo back in April. It's a beautifiul car. Early in the summer (on one of the days it was 35C) he said that it wouldn't go into gear after having it parked all day, although after a bit of trying it was fine. This didn't happen again until last month when the same issue occured. Over the last few weeks he says it's been happening more often, although it is still only intermittent. As there was no record of the car having it's brake fluid changed at 3 years he had this done at our local garage yesterday, along with the clutch fluid as we know it's shared. The garage said the fluid was low, and now that's all done. He was hopeful that that was the problem sorted but it happened again this afternoon. This time I was able to get into the car and feel it for myself. The gear change felt stiff and required more of a push than usual to get it into gear. Lifting and then reengaging the clutch resolves the issue. A quick search on the web suggests lubricating the linkages in the engine bay with lithium grease - that looks easily doable and worth a go, but I'd appreciate any other thoughts or suggestions. Car has 23,000 miles, full service history - and is no longer under warranty from the garage we bought it from (of course!) Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks for all the replies and advice. Took it back the garage that serviced it a week ago and they found that, where they'd put the air filter housing back on they'd taken the connecting pipe off as well and refitted it without the required o ring (lost somewhere on the workshop floor). Profuse apologies and corrected with no fuss. All good now and driving like a dream again 😃

Thanks again for all the responses. We finally contacted the right bit of Skoda - "Digital Support" which I think is actually over in CZ. They have said the Amundsen doesn't feature wireless CarPlay and it can't be added. Local dealer has also said the same. Although there do seem to be options with coding and using tools like OBDEleven, I think we'll probably just get a little adapter dongle for one of the USB C ports, much like we have in our older Karoq. Feels less hassle, cheaper and "safer" than running any risk of bricking the infotainment system.

Thank you! 53,000 files and spark plugs were replaced 12 months ago. Refulled a week ago. Will pop it down to garage tomorrow and report back.

Ah - as soon as we welcome a lovely 2023 Scala 1.0 TSi Monte Carlo to the family, the trusty 2019 Karoq 1.5 TSi SE decides to throw a strop! Today, when driving on the motorway, the EPC light came on, followed shortly by the Check Engine light. Stopping and leaving the car for a while clears the lights, and a little drive round town doesn't get them to come on again, but back on the motorway they both light up again. As my wife was driving when this happened she called the recovery company. They ran a diagnostic scan which didn't show any issues although, by the mechanic's own admission, his scan couldn't go very "deep". He suggested taking it to the garage, which I will tomorrow, but I'd be in any thoughts or similar experiences from Briskodians. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for all the replies. It's definitely not an import and it also does precede the current "edition" model (a mark 2?) No joy with wireless CarPlay yet, so my son has contacted Skoda support. Let's see what they have to say ...

Hi everyone, First time here in a while, and the family has just acquired its 11th Skoda - my son has this morning picked up a beautiful 2023 Scala Monte Carlo on Moon White Metallic. It's gorgeous 😍. Everything is great and his Apple Carplay works fine using a USB cable. Would / should wireless be available as well? Nothing obvious, and we've tried turning WLAN off and one- it's quite complex. Any insight welcome. Thanks in advance.
