  1. Hi all. We've just picked up a tasty 67 plate Fabia 1.0 SE in Corrida Red. Very nice - and looks lovely in the drive next to our 19 plate Karoq 1.5 SE in Candy White. I noticed that the Fabia fuel filler flap looks like it has a slot for an ice scraper in it, just like the Karoq (although there isn't one there). I assumed it was just missing, so I tried the one from the Karoq - but that's too big! Should the Fabia have an ice scraper and if so, would I be right to think it's a different, slightly smaller part from the Karoq one? Thanks.
  2. Ah yes, thanks langers2k. If there are any VCDS owners in Dartford / Gravesend / Medway who would be able to help please do let me know. Thanks again everyone.
  3. Many thanks for all the comments and advice. Popped back to garage yesterday and all sorted after a couple of minutes with the computer plugged in. It would seem that, on the system they had, the most obvious option was something like "Oil Service (Minor)", and then something like "Standard Oil". This had set the oil service interbval to 4800 miles / 6 months. He tried again with "Oil Service (Minor)", and then "High Efficiency Oil" ... voila, oil service interval 9400 miles / 12 months. It's a little bit out of sync wit reality now, but at least I know if I reset it manually in future it will be on the correct fixed intervals again. All good. I have to say, it was interesting to see a computer plugged into the car like this - it's all felt a bit like witchcraft before, so nice to see it demystified. Thanks again all.
  4. I successfully used a Piggy back fuse connector in the fuse fit the rear wiper. This is switched live. I've dine this in two successive Fabia Mk2s and it's worked perfectly each time. Also fairly easy to get the cable up behind the stereo with a bit of fishing!
  5. Thanks for all this. I have already reset the oil service indicator as described, but this is when I noticed the problem. Although it no longer says "oil service due", when I look in the settings at service info it says an oil service is due in 4800 miles or 180 days (incorrect - six month interval). After previous oil services it has said 9400 miles or 372 days (correct - 12 month interval). This is what makes me think the garage has made a mistake when coding it with the computer.
  6. Thank Stubod, will do. It wasn't a main dealer that serviced it, but they're good and I guess if they had the capability to code it wrongly they ought to be able to code it correctly. Was just hoping I might have been able to avoid a trip though ...
  7. Hi there, We've been having our 2014 1.2 Tsi Yeti serviced at a local garage (not main dealer) since it has been out of warranty. All good. It was last serviced in November 2018 - a major service - and the service display was reset. Earlier this week the display said "Oil service due in 18 days", which I believe to be six months early (should be 12 Months). I reset the service display with the trip counter button / ignition on trick and cleared the display no problem, but when in then checked the service intervals in the setting section it now says "Oil service due 4800 miles, 180 days" - another six months, not 12 months. (The inspection service Vale is correct though, about 18 months away). Would it be reasonable to think that the garage have somehow incorrectly set the oil service interval when they reset the display last November? If so, would it be them (or another garage) that could set this back to 10,000 miles, 12 months or is that something I could do myself? Thanks in advance.
  8. Thanks for that. On the sensors, I was looking to install them myself - it looks like a bit of fun! As for the radio, it has the Dance head unit. Thanks.
  9. Hello everyone, I'm delighted to say that we're in the process of purchasing a lovely 59 plate Fabia II 1.2 Sport in Corrida Red. This will be a second car for us, needed because I'm starting a new job soon that involves driving rather than train commuting (our other car is a gorgeous 64 plate Yet in Laste White). All in all, this Fabia will be my seventh Skoda! I was pleasantly surprised by the spec of this 5+ year old Fabia, and it is a lovely drive with low mileage. But there's a couple of tweaks I'd like to make which I'd welcome some advice on : 1. Rear parking sensors. I've done some searches on here and I've seen the typical £15 on eBay sets, which look pretty good. I think I'd be okay to do an install of one of these, but I wondered if anyone has a particular recommendation (maybe one that is colour coded to Corrida Red?) and whether I can expect the inside of the bumper on this one to be marked with the right drill points? Alternatively, does anyone havd any views on what looks like alternative types - the ones that attach as a bar or a surround to the read number plate? 2. Bluetooth capability for music and calls. Again, I've done some research on here already. It looks like I have a choice between something like the Kinovo BTC450 plug in jobbie or something like a Dension unit which plugs into the back of the Dance head unit. I guess I'd rather have as neat an installation as possible, but the price differential looks quite high. Comments and thoughts welcome. On the plug in things like the Kinovo, can this stay plugged into the 12V connector at all times or would it drain the battery? 3. Rear speakers. Although it may already have them (I didn't actually check - I only checked that the radio worked as it should). Any and all advice welcomed. Thanks all.
  10. In case anyone finds this thread through a search, here's a quick update. The noise continued so I gave the rubber boots a squire of lubricant. It still continued so we booked it in at the dealer. Before we even got it there the noise had stopped! A couple of months later, and it hasn't returned.
  11. I thought I'd keep this thread going, in case anyone with a similar issue finds it in a search in the future... I checked my tyre pressures (which were a little low) and also checked that the car doesn't make this noise on full lock when stationary (it doesn't). I shall keep listening out over the weekend and, if it still sounds the wrong side of wrong, will book it in for a check. Worth noting that I'm super sensitive to creaks and rattles in my cars (aaah, fond memories of the Fabia's creaking dashboard and the Octavia's rubbing headlining)
  12. Aaah - thank you muddyboots. That does sound like it might be the reason. I just don't recall hearing it before ... but then, I wasn't listening for such a noise! Thanks again.
  13. Hello all, We're the proud owners of a three month old 64 plate 1.2two YetI. Laser white withwith Matterhorn alloys - lovely. Have noticed today that, when parking into our drive, the front wheels make a squeaking type noise when the steering is turned to full lock. It is not associated with braking, occurs on both sides and cannot be heard inside the car. It's entirely possible that this is just normal tyre noise, perhaps due to the block paving road, and I must admit that I haven't checked the tyre pressures for a few weeks (will do so tomorrow). But I did want to ask if anyone had had anything like this on their Yetis? Thank you everyone.
  14. For anyone who's interested ... this job was done a couple of weeks ago. Very good job indeed. And charged £65 + VAT, not the £80 + VAT quoted. This included a courtesy car for the day. Thumbs up to Motorline Skoda in Dartford!
  15. Thanks for all your replies. I took the car to our local Skoda garage, who had a look and said the SMART repair guy who visits them every Thursday to sort out minor stuff on part-ex vehicles would be able to deal with it. £80 + VAT including a courtesy car for the day. Very happy with this, as it's only a little bit dearer than the cheapest mobile SMART quote I could find, plus it's being dealt with by the Skoda garage. I'll let you know how it goes.
