  1. I'll have to be picky when I could do it if I take that route. I'm guessing the projector bowl bit is the same on LHD & RHD and it's the reflector part or the cut off shutter behind the lense which determines where the kick is?
  2. Thanks for the reply. What was the turnaround, and cost if you don't mind me asking?
  3. Hi all I'm hoping someone will have a good solution to this. I've searched but not found a conclusive solution. The projector bowls of my factory xenons have seen better days but nobody seems to sell these on their own & even RHD complete xenon units seem rare. Does anyone have a good solution? Painting seems a good idea but from the research I've done, they won't be the mirror finish required. I've approached a few places that re-chrome car parts but none seem to do plastic. Does anyone have any experience? I'd prefer to not have the car off the road while I send bits away but may consider it? I've looked at reflective mirror tape but not sure they stand the heat & may even present a fire risk or just melt making things worse. I have wondered if I bought a LHD set & just pinched the projector bowl would the beam pattern be ok? Is it the angle of the silver reflector that is different for RHD vs LHD. I'd prefer to keep them as them OEM rather than try to fit aftermarket xenons projectors in a standard unit. Also prefer new or reconditioned, don't want to waste money on a second hand set from a breakers as they may be the same or worse. Any help welcome, thanks. To avoid doubt, Mk1 Fabia vRS.
  4. I just replaced both my rear calipers. One from Carparts4less the other from ECP. Both are the same, albeit for different sides. ECP meant I could collect & the old unit was easily taken back to get the surcharge refunded. Pretty sure the calipers worked out as about £50-£60 once I got the surcharges. Looking today the prices do seem high even with their usual discount codes I bought non-green ones though as they were much cheaper. Luckily I've sill got some of the smooth green hammerite.
  5. 4rings in Dartford are an Audi specialist. Get very good reviews & comments from what I've read but never used them myself. Same goes for Mastertech in Ashford the other side of the county. I'm not too far from Tunbridge Wells & yet to find a consistently reliable independent for VAG stuff.
  6. Yeah, got them fitted already.
  7. Only posting as it might help someone. I think there was some truth in this. I've now changed both rear calipers. Handbrake is much better, as it should be. Even pull on each cable. Both calipers return as expected & have the same amount of travel to engage the handbrake. Only a few mm or degrees of rotation. There must have been something broken inside on the handbrake mech, may be a c clip or something. Fingerscrossed the new calipers last another 16 years!
  8. Hi all I've tried a search but not found the exact answer I'm after. Long story short, I've recently changed my rear discs & pads as I think one or both calipers was slightly binding. I managed to free up the NS one & the handbrake mechanism seems fine that side. I couldn't get the OS to free up so decided to replace the caliper. It's all back together but the handbrake mechanism doesn't seem to pull the OS brake on. It only pulls a few mm. On tightening the handbrake under the centre console, the collor goes lopsided pretty quickly. The cables all seem free. I have read on here the mechanism may meed re-zeroing but no further info? Anyone got any ideas? Both wheels seem free & brakes & handbrake work, just the different levels on travel of the handbrake mech & lopsided collor makes me think something isn't quite 100% Thanks in advance
