Ok, so I've removed the airbag from current 4 spoke wheel and there's a wiring harness that just has connectors to the airbag - nothing for the button controls on steering wheel. Can anyone help me with a part number for the harness I'd need please? Than a case of physical fitting and getting someone with diagnostic to make it work?

So I won’t need a BCM? Should the wiring just be there ready when I remove cover? Or is there a wiring loom from the new buttons to the BCM needed?

Thanks for your help, I have found many of the button inserts that can be installed in place of the current blanks. Could you shed any light on the wiring loom I would need please?

Anyone?!?!? Still haven’t got round to doing this. I don’t have / need cruise control It’s a manual Just want to be able to change volume and basic audio controls and answer phone calls. Thanks in advance.

Have searched the forum and looks like this is the appropriate thread to help with what I need. I have a pre fl Mk3 (15 plate) 4 spoke steering wheel with no buttons. Plenty of 2nd hand steering wheels out there (I’m happy with 4 spoke but would be equally happy with 3) Have also seen just the buttons which look to be a straight swap shape wise. What I’m not understanding is all the talk of gateways, wiring connectors etc…. How do I work out if the bits I buy will be compatible. Local Skoda/VW specialist garage can help me with the coding if needed. Thanks in advance for any advice I’m a total car tech idiot.
