  1. Thanks, but looks way above my technical ability (which amounts to zilch).
  2. Excuse my ignorance, but what's VCDS?
  3. I've stopped using the auto release as I found it caused a bit of a jerky start. I find it quick enough to engage the DSG to drive and the handbrake can be released manually as quick as you want before you give it the gas.
  4. I've towed before with a Skoda 1.5 petrol Karoq with DSG gearbox. It was a bit underpowered and I had to keep it in sport mode. Probably due to lower torque in the petrol engine. Now have the Superb 2.0 litre diesel 4 x 4 estate with DSG and will be towing a 1490kg Bailey to the Yorkshire Dales in two weeks time. I've had a Milenco Falcon fly off at speed and have since been using the cheapos from Aldi with the rubber band fitting. No problems with those. Got to say, the fold away tow bar on the Superb is the best I've ever had. No more crawling under the car to fit or remove the detachable ones.
  5. I bought my 2021 Superb SEL 2.0 TDI DSG 4 x 4 last October with only just over 20,000 miles on the clock. My caravan is a Bailey Unicorn Cadiz, which is around 1500 MTPLM. I've only towed it from the Dealer to my storage compound, about 15 miles on A and B roads. All I can say is that it towed very well with no problems, much better than previous vehicle, a 150 bhp Mazda CX5 diesel. I'm no mechanic, but with your mileage, worn clutch has to be the prime suspect. Good luck with sorting it, particularly if you'll be pulling it up the steep ramp on the ferry to France. I'm going to the North Yorkshire Dales in May (wife won't go to France anymore) and I have no worries about the Yorkshire gradients.
