2.0TSi 4x4 or 2.0tdi 4x4?
It wouldn't let me edit the original post, so I added more info separately here: More miles completed in the 265 tsi. The data above is two motorway runs and 2x shorter a-road commuter journeys. 589 miles at 40.3mpg Im pretty happy with that. Cruise set to 70mph Seems entirely decent for the performance. Sure, not as good economy as a diesel, but considering the refinement and extra performance, not so far out of the ballpark. Other impressions are the tyre pressures are definitely not flattering the refinement of this car. I'll be dropping them to.2.5 bar tomorrow when my pressure gauge arrives. Also, from my perspective, this is not a car that goads you to extract all the performance from it. But it does benefit from that sense effortless motion from not having to try too hard ever. The gearbox has been extremely smooth and intuitive. I was expecting worse after online reviews but no noticeable difference to the 8 speed torque converter in the 5 series. Car is suitably anonymous in pebble silver. I'm ignored by everyone on the road..it's like a cloaking device. I guess it gives off that modern mondeo-man Senior Team Leader vibe! The travel assist is very much a game changer for long motorway journeys. It reduces my effort burden by what feels like 50% so I arrive less burnt out the other side. Personally I'm really enjoying the car. I'd say it's the best car I've owned. It's such a perfect tool for the job of driving from A to B in comfort while feeling special and looking ordinary.

2.0TSi 4x4 or 2.0tdi 4x4?
Hi, my car arrived yesterday, the engine is quiet, smooth and very much suits the nature of the car. I couldn't stomach the tdi as it was at odds with a smooth quiet cruiser. I've only driven short town journeys so far and the MPG is 31.8 over 100 miles. My expectation is that it should reach 40 MPG on a long motorway run. I will have an opportunity to test this soon. Regardless of fuel economy, I'm pleased with the petrol engine and think it does add to the pleasure of driving the car.

UK - Jungle Green paint?
Metallica are on there. You need to click the downward arrow to the right of where it says 'Solid Colours' and there is an option to select Metallic.

My understanding is that the knocking is only on the estate version.

Range Rover Velar D300 V6 to Superb L&K - Guidance, Advice and Opinions
Hi David, I've got my Superb on order coming from a 520d. When test driving the L&K, I found the 2.0tdi very agricultural sounding and that put me off wanting to extend it on the test drive. 100% drive one though as the massage seats on the L&K are really lovely, my wife was instantly sold! So I'm happily waiting for the petrol 4x4 which should be smoother and fun on the odd occasion.

2.0TSi 4x4 or 2.0tdi 4x4?
Ah yes, I see the channel on the alloys, I will have to ensure I don't use the brakes 😆 good news on the pressure washing though. I didn't know there was a surround setting in the stereo. Good to know. Yes my 5 series also knows what's going on....in eco mode you can see it regenerating on the approach to round abouts and junctions.... How's the refinement of the engine and the performance?

2.0TSi 4x4 or 2.0tdi 4x4?
Looking very nice in the darker colour quite dynamic looking! The colour is similar to bmw I think? What do you think if the wheels compared to your previous ones?

Painted metal exposed inside window frames...fix?
Just realised the passat ones are also exposed! Maybe a matt black wrap then.

Painted metal exposed inside window frames...fix?
Hi all, I've ordered and am awaiting a build date. Something I think let's down the premium feel of the car is the exposed paint on the inside of the window frames. I'm actually surprised they are not covered in the Superb. I was thinking of getting them wrapped in black or is there a way of using the VW passat coverings? Just a thought.

Initial thoughts on new Superb Hatch
Nice write up. My hatch is on order and I'm really excited. I didn't know the rear lights were motion activated. That makes sense as on our test drive my daughter was trying to work out how to turn them off! Lots of fiddling managed it, but probably by luck rather than anything else! I think the seat belt pre tension is a feature. We noticed it on the test drive. I liked it! It felt like the car was looking after you a little, even if it's just a gimmick. I do wonder whether that happens for the rear seats belts too? Enjoy!

2.0TSi 4x4 or 2.0tdi 4x4?
Well, I'm thinking I'd rather suffer mpg than feeling underpowered. Time will tell on that rationale. I'm told 3-4 months with the possibility of modifying a car with a build slot already allocated, to reduce the lead time.

2.0TSi 4x4 or 2.0tdi 4x4?
Thanks to those who have shared their experiences. I've made my order this afternoon! L&K Hatch with the TSI 265, silver pebble, cognac interior and 19" alloys. I'm really pleased to finally settle on a specification and excited to drive it as I've never actually driven the TSI! But looking at the videos online and the stats, I don't think I will be disappointed in it. Now for the long wait....

2.0TSi 4x4 or 2.0tdi 4x4?
Also, I'm wondering whether the upgrade to the 19" Veritate wheels is worth the extra visual clout vs the std 18" Bellatrix? Any photos of your cars on would be helpful and not many pics around on the 18s.

2.0TSi 4x4 or 2.0tdi 4x4?
Thank you, that's 40.9 mpg ! Very positive. Is the tank the same size and the tdi? Does it come with larger brakes or the same? I'd be interested to hear what other owners are experiencing!

2.0TSi 4x4 or 2.0tdi 4x4?
Hi all, I've had all manner of cars in my past and drive a lot with work. After two 5 series G30 and G30 face-lift, it's time to change. The new 5 is not my cup of tea and after an Octavia VRS a few years ago, I've always had the Superb itch to scratch! Yesterday, I had a test drive of the L&K hatch 2.0tdi 4x4 hatch. I had the car for a number of hours and drove it on all types of roads with and without passengers. Here's a summary of my thoughts that I sent to a friend: It was surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting much compared to the 5 series. But. The build quality was on par, the door slam is really heavy and solid, better than the 5. The leather was nice, a darker brown than I have currently, it's a nice grain and also has perforated areas which look good. The seats are something else, heated and chilled with massage! The massage is crazy, there are 10 styles and each has adjustable intensity which you can mix with the cold or hot seat. Honestly if feels like a person is doing it... so relaxing and borderline therapeutic. Canton hifi is decent. Refinement. It's double glazed and the dampers have 19 levels so you can make it float like a rowing boat. It's on par or slightly better riding than the 5. This car had the optional 19s. Noise wise, it's slightly louder inside than the 5, maybe 10% max. That's just the engine which is not as smooth as the bmw. It was the 2.0 tdi 193. Performance wise very similar to the 5. Maybe not quite as fast off the line buy it's a 7 speed vs 8 in the bmw so maybe a ratio thing. Loads more room in the back, almost overkill. Heated rear seats and rear has it's own climate zone. I had if from 10am to 3pm so lots of driving on all types of roads. It's definitely a car to just cruise in and live out my Czech diplomat fantasy. I was impressed with the adaptive cruise as it also steered in lane. I can imagine very good for the work run. What I did find unusual was the amount of cars driving up my backside and generally trying to bully me with their superior cars ( an astra and an Audi a5) ...this never happens to me in the BMW so I found it all very amusing if a little strange. So it's got me thinking... a 265 could be very fun on the occasional situation. Thing is, I predominantly do a 500 mile round trip for work twice a month. Does anyone know if the tsi is slightly more refined than the tdi around town and on a motorway? Also, what is the best mpg on a long motorway run at 70? I know the tdi is the right tool for the job, I'm just trying to justify getting something I don't need! Lol!
