update, updating to 0480 fixed it, alongside the newer skins

Hey guys, I updated my mib2 unit to 0480 firmware, and have completed all the patches and code installs, but am not happy with my display showing the facelift octavia while i'm in my mk3 octavia (2016 scout pre facelift) So, I pulled the skin files using toolbox, and extracted the files Now, to swap them with the image files from the 0253 dump, and voila - except I didnt know I'd need the dump from my previous software before updating......# Is there anyone here kind enough to dump their MIB2 system onto a zip and let me download it? would be really grateful TYIA PS system was i believe before updating MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0253T Edit, i have i believe all the versions from 0245 to 0480 including a copy i patched to work on older mib2 units, i just dont want to throw all my work in the bin, install 0253, dump it, install 0480, then set everything up again from scratch

Nono, I mean, shouldn't the whole laptime screen be above the bottom bar? Especially since there's such a big gap at the top

@pab567 sooo... ive managed to follow a drive.ru link i found somewhere here to update the system to 0480 - didnt end up likiing it and rolled back to 0253 - matches the car a lot better it turns out imo another question..... how can i activate swap codes on my system? my vcds isnt genuine and gives me an error, is obdeleven the only option? @zlatni71 what on earth are those files? never seen those before

Im looking at lifting my mk3 scout 40mm with an ebay kit, but ive found some info that i wanted to clarify here: Apparently a lift kit warrants stiffer shocks - what can i buy that will bolt in? Mk3 octavias dont have camber adjustment apparently - do i need different camber/toe/caster? specs vs stock, and what can i do to get caster adjustments for the car? id rather stick with VAG parts if i can, and buy 2nd hand bits that are in relatively good condition and while im at it, i want to buy a vcds cable + laptop, but what im seeing on ebay is only for pre 2017 models - are they legit or knock offs? TYIA

2 things: 1 not sure i have someone local, but ill ask in the local uk group (can i come back to this thread once im sorted on that front? either borrow someones, or just wait and buy one myself) 2 what exactly needs to be done to enable further firmware updates? is it unlocked from the Green Engineering menu, or do i need to enable it externally (obdeleven, vcds etc)?

I'm having some trouble with my infotainment system - I've updated from MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0245T to MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0253T , but anything newer than that and i get an error - "the current software download is too old" how can i fix that and update it to MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0480T (if thats even possible?), and what do i stand to gain from updating to the newest version? Oooooooo boy So fit the prop shaft, and then start diagnosing..... Are haldex systems generally easy to sort out if they go bad, or am I in for a bad time?

Oho So they're two separate units, and are serviced separately - I'll look into that But assuming the diff is ok, it should just be a case of putting the shaft back on? How can I check the clutch, or are they generally reliable

Well.... I've attached a photo of the rear diff - it looks like the connection for the prop is there, sooo should be ok?

Seller didnt reply to my text (lol) apparently the couplings can go bad, ambulance service couldve maybe removed the prop shaft to save themselves the hassle? ill give the rear diff a wiggle about, and see if everything spins as it should - not much else i can do im guessing (unless there is?) While im at it i could also do the haldex service - im assuming plenty of info on that online? Found a supplier in hungary with a matching propshaft number 5Q0521101BB, just need some money now lol What do you mean by "is the haldex system there"? what am i looking for? since the diff etc is, well, yknow, there... ty

Hmm - are there any other options? Coz a scout specific shaft costs an arm and leg 🫠 Really hoping there are no differential issues - how would I check it? Just rotate the input/output shafts/wheels and check for roughness/play?

Morning all, I recently bought an ex ambulance 2016 Scout (yes, im new round here), and found out yesterday while it was up on a lift that its missing the propshaft - what are my options for replacement? will only a skoda shaft fit, or can i steal (not literally lol) one from a tiguan/yeti/q3? tyia
