Hi all! Looking to find some help as I'm tearing my hair out!
Missus comes to me to say AdBlue is running low in our 2019 Skoda Karoq 1.6 SEL, so I top her up and send her on her way. 2 weeks later she says the warning still hasn't gone and there's only 200 miles left. Cool, refilled again.
I take it out to drive a few miles and made sure to wait the 30 seconds switching the ignition on but no engine (usually does the trick to reset the warning) but nothing is getting the warning to go.
Fast forward a few days and whilst driving, the amber warning turns red, saying no start once stopped.
Topped up again to be sure I've topped her up properly. Still nothing. Got the local garage to come down with an OBD Scanner to wipe the non start warning which gave me another 30 miles to play with, but he couldn't reset the AdBlue level unfortunately.
Only thing I can think of that changed is that I bought a 10ltr AdBlue from Costco and used that and since is when the problems have started. Coincidence? Possibly.
Ive tried to siphon out the DEF to see if that would help reset itself, but cant get my hose down far enough into the tank.
I'm now wondering what could be done? Is it a tank replacement? Can i even open up the tank to replace a faulty sensor? If so which? Ive also been advised of a AdBlue delete service local to me at a cost of £250, but would that still pass an MOT?
Skoda want £130 for a diagnostics scan so that's not gonna happen and they won't tell me anything else related to the fault either...
Just don't know how I should take this forward.
Any help would be extremely appreciated! 🙏🏻
