I think the plastic where the wires click inta maybe causing issue. I dont remember much issue getting mine off now, just remember it popped off and i hadta flip it over to access the light screws

If you gently pull down the centre wires should give u more access but otherwise looks like you have all bolts from what i can remember ifya want to send a video of where you are struggling when taking apart again let me know. Id imagine u have missinh a bolt, i remember the it came up with little force in the end

Theres a video of the mk3 on youtube beinh done similar in from plastic removing part. I bought a plastic removal kit off amazon as need ta make sure not to damage it

It can be done buts its painful, need ta remove the plastic in boot, then the bolts/screws all around its one of the last things to be installed the high level rear light so alot of dismantling. Only thing i woudl suggest is a quarter inch ratcher or smaller ratcher as 4 of the screws are very small and hard to get at in one area. Also put a sheet on the rough as u will need to flip boot lip at some point to get access. Make sure u test it well before putting back together

Got it sorted as semzo stated definitely nt straight forward the mk 3 octavia definitely easier from looks of video mk 4 more complicated once the plastic is off but job done

Could you give me a breakdown of what needs to be done, i took off the screw by the rubber puller inside boot, i took off the 2 screw on top of the boot lid, wasn't sure what next. Does the plastic come off after this or what is the best way to do seen other cars u can prise out the light wasn't sure
