Steering problem
stick with the garratt turbo but make sure it is brand new and not recon secondly KYB are top parts manufacturers BMW parts wont fit a Skoda Octavia two totally different class of cars but yes my choice would be Bilstein very reasonably priced on Autodoc or as you mentioned KYB they last for life of the car unlike Skoda genuine more likely to become defective after 1 year and come at extortionate prices I stopped using genuine even from TPS a major supplier of parts to VW Skoda Seat because of their price racketeering it is illegal but the stealerships are a mafiosa control the market charge through the roof it should never be like this

Steering problem
absolutely these parts are all just as good and long lasting fit right first time and rarely go bad genuine skoda octavia balljoint TPS £50 plus vat lemforder £36 all in with locking nuts Aftermarket are indeed premium parts How I know because worked in factories in UK that make these parts for Skoda Jaguar LandRover Toyota etc its pure greed and profiteering the VW group trying to monopolise control the market prices on parts have u noticed the boxes are genuine and are labelled EAC what does this tell you? Made here packaged here distributed all around Europe and then bought back into UK weird eh??

Steering problem
Totally agree I had this also new genuine shock absorbers front from skoda listers failed leaked within 2 years biggest regret always buy OE Bilstein sachs lemforder these brands never hardly fail and can be trusted and at a fraction of the cost compared to these stealerships irony is always use aftermarkets

All 4 brakes binding after pressing the brake pedal
once you tried and pushed calipers back easy when putting back toghether did you replenish the brakefluid also worth noting to use a manual pressurised bottle system from halfords for brake fluid replenish works a treat does the brake pedal feel low or is it depressing ok after dont worry about soft pedal pump hard but gently until you see its all satisfactory recheck for leaks brake hoses nipples etc should be air has vapourised and brakes bleed should be successful once your brake hose are also in good condition I have another car very old 23 years old toyota and needs new brake hoses and full pressurised brake fluid bleed never been done and key fact car has been stud battery went flat and renewed similar issue to yours irony is do not leave your cars sat for days weeks months get in and drive them as things like brakes cease up etc once you tried and pushed calipers back easy when putting back toghether did you replenish the brakefluid also worth noting to use a manual pressurised bottle system from halfords for brake fluid replenish works a treat does the brake pedal feel low or is it depressing ok after dont worry about soft pedal pump hard but gently until you see its all satisfactory recheck for leaks brake hoses nipples etc should be air has vapourised and brakes bleed should be successful once your brake hose are also in good condition I have another car very old 23 years old toyota and needs new brake hoses and full pressurisedf brake fluid bleed never been done and key fact car has been stud battery went flat and renewed similar issue to yours irony is do not leave your cars sat for days weeks months get in and drive them as things like brakes cease up etc

All 4 brakes binding after pressing the brake pedal
wind the caliper pistons back fully if they press back inwards without too much force this should show calipers and the brake hose have no air 2) make sure the brake resovoir cap is off dont forget secure it back on also just as a safety measure open the bleed nipple gently clean it first then libricate it and then slack it off see if air bubbles come out with the brake fluid this is what I would try first
