  1. I was thinking about that but it's probably not worth the risk to buy a used unit and switch bits over. Probably just going to have to be without the car for a week. Thanks though
  2. Thanks, they are on my list but quoting 4/5 days with postage - understandable. Ideally I'd find someone locally but might just have to bite the bullet and send it off.
  3. Great, thanks Kev. I suspected that would be the case.
  4. Hi all, I have a problem with my 2011 1.8 TSI instrument cluster, a fairly common problem I'm told. The rev counter needle and the two leds either side aren't working, I've tried replacing one (very fiddly) but it's still not working, so must be another issue. I've seen replacement clusters on eBay for around the £60 mark but I've also read that you can't just switch the units without some recoding, is that correct? I'm struggling to find someone local to Gateshead who will refurbish the existing unit and sending it away will mean I'm without a car for a week. Has anyone else had this problem? I thought I could just put up with it but as I'm driving more now with the lights on, it's very off putting (and I like things to work!) Thanks
  5. Hi, I'm getting errors on my obd reader 01089. I'm getting a couple of different parts numbers suggested when I do a search and I'm not sure if the one on my car is the correct one. Just got the car and receipts would suggest the purge valve was changed a year ago. I have 06H 906 517 B fitted but I just wondered if there was a way to search by VIN to make sure it's been replaced properly. Failing that, any other suspects for this fault code?
  6. Exactly right, little slot just above for it to clip in to. Easiest fix so far! I was expecting a component that it needed to be plugged in to. Sorted now 👍🏻
  7. Great stuff, thanks for replying 👌🏻
  8. Ah cheers, outside temp seems to be working on the dash though. Strange!
  9. Hi folks, Been tinkering with my 2011 Octavia 1.8tsi estate (adding front camera) and I noticed this wire and plug just hanging down at the passenger side near the radiator. Can't see anywhere obvious it can plug in to, everything is working too so I'm happy to leave well enough alone, it's got me curious though....... Any ideas? Cheers Stu
  10. Fantastic! Thanks for the response, it's the connector I need. Thanks for the links too. Just hope this sorts it out, had no trouble for two months then added the camera/boot switch and bang, TCS error again. I'll get on to those links now. Thanks again!
  11. Not the best pictures, any help greatly appreciated
  12. Hi all, Having trouble with a new boot release switch I've fitted, I've added an integrated camera. Since I've fitted it, I'm getting a TCS Error on starting in the morning. I fitted a new battery two months ago and this rectified the TCS error, it's back now though. Other posts suggest battery drain causes this problem which would make sense. Long story short, I've disconnected the new switch now but I'd like to replace the wiring plug that goes into the switch. Does anyone know where I would get one? Rectangular connector, two pins / wires. Original part looks to be 1ZD827574 Thanks! Stu
