Hi folks,

Been tinkering with my 2011 Octavia 1.8tsi estate (adding front camera) and I noticed this wire and plug just hanging down at the passenger side near the radiator. Can't see anywhere obvious it can plug in to, everything is working too so I'm happy to leave well enough alone, it's got me curious though.......

Any ideas?

Outside temperature sensor.

Should be a hole somewhere within reach of that wiring, for it to clip into.

Ah cheers, outside temp seems to be working on the dash though. Strange!

It'll still work like that, because that is all there is to it. Just needs to be located somewhere so it doesn't bounce around.

Exactly right, little slot just above for it to clip in to. Easiest fix so far!

I was expecting a component that it needed to be plugged in to.
