  1. Today I gave the upgraded LED lights for the trunk a go again after using way more force than I thought was reasonable to connect the adapter to the LED unit. However I didn't feel quite as confident in doing the same with my wiring harness, so it's in 'good enough' and then a whole load of force to get it into the hole and it's in. Significantly brighter! Lights up the whole of the inside of the boot, and if it's not aimed good enough, just drop the hatch down a bit. However went to replace the glovebox light (just that and the torch left now I think) and learned it's a different unit, so another aliexpress order placed and some little emblems to replace the missing one on my key to get it over the free shipping threshold!
  2. Oh awesome, thanks for that! In that case do you know which ones would be recommended to get, I can't make heads or tails of the different listings on here
  3. Today I spent half an hour faffing trying to swap and the tailgate lights on my Combi but for the life of me I couldn't get the supplied adapters from this listing to fit at either end. Not sure if it's wrong or just poor quality. But as is always the case, I got carried away ordering stuff from aliexpress. Todays order consists of; a fire extinguisher trunk storage bag (carrying one is something I really want to do, would love to figure out how to install oem style), a replacement brolly because the SKODA one that came with the car is broken, glued together and bent so it doesn't actually open... and I read the oem ones aren't particularly reliable. So we're trying an aliexpress special for now, but compact umbrellas can only get you so far, I also picked up an umbrella holder in case anyone ever gets me the fancy umbrella I put on my wishlist. Some wheel nut covers as I seem to be missing a few and it would be nice to put on a new set when she gets some nice shoes. The centre caps were also looking a bit naff, probably a long shot and not full of confidence but some centre cap covers too. I've had a dashcam and some trim removal tools for coming upto a year now but been too afraid to attempt the install especially given it's a two channel dashcam, but to potentially assist with that task I picked up some cloth tape and some cable rods and cable puller gubbins, lord knows, I'm terrified! And do you want to know what started off this whole order, I've been meaning to find a way to better organise the stuff I haul around in my boot as I've just been using two bags for life, so I got some magic tape and some mesh organizers with netting to hopefully just secure things out of the way. And naturally when you start doing this you see something like add two items and get £x off so we also picked up something called a car wiper repairer tool? and a washer fluid funnel type lid. So, in summary, today I did nothing to my Skoda...
  4. Hi all, finally got around to getting some new shoes ordered for the girl. I'm getting a set of Hankook Ventus Evo K137 235/45 ZR18 98Y XL put onto the Pegasus alloys. I was considering changing out the locking wheel nut for just a regular nut? Which then prompted the second question, I picked up a set of Alcar 9021 17inch Steelies for Winter Tyres, do I need to run seperate nuts due to the alloy v steel nature? I was looking on autodoc to try and order some nuts as I didn't know how often they need to be changed if at all and noticed there were different ones for alloys v steels. Appreciate your help!
  5. Usually when there is a gearbox fault going into limp mode, there is an error message that states it, at least it did on my MY2018
  6. Sounds like a mechatronics issue, most likely you'll have 2,4,6 and Reverse, I had to have my mechatronics refurbed recently but due to a clutch position sensor. It's also the DQ381, my previous research suggests that as it's a lighter version of the DQ500 they're a bit more prone to issues.
  7. Ooh that looks really nice! Might one day steal that idea!
  8. I don't know if they are offering anything, struggling to find any real info on the dealership. Do you know if there were any gremlins or any big ticket things due soon on it? (Looking to upgrade from a Mazda 3 BK that I paid £950 for 5 years ago) so it's a 'big spend' for me although it might not seem it. I assume the whole thing with the Macpherson strut was all resolved right? That's how I actually matched it to yourself in the end
  9. It's currently on AT BT66 DNF in Lava Blue although the seller doesn't seem to want to send me any info on service history because of 'GDPR' I would have sent a message but I don't have enough posts (don't actually own a Skoda yet, been lurking on and off for months)
  10. Hi Graham, just wondering if you happened to sell your car by any chance? I was looking at a vehicle and I think it was yours and was trying to find out more information!
  11. This has been a wonderful project log to read through and I've thoroughly enjoyed it!
  12. Do you have any further details on this event?
