Revive this, How much would this be now to fit? Where are you based Tech1e?

Can anyone shed some light on this, set off to work and about 8 mile into the mostly motorway drive doing 70 the oil can light comes on with a beep. Solid Amber. Oil level is max Coolant is fine and no mixing of either. No smoke or strange noises but a loss of power. Scanned with vcds and couldn't find any faults? Only way I got rid of the light was to unplug the battery. The light is no longer on. I have used my other car for work tonight just incase and also because in the same trip to work one of the ARB drop links popped...... Cheers Billy

Weak thermostat? My fabia does the same just no eml I made the mistake of not changing the stat at the last cam belt change. Was ok for a year or so then went tits up

Hi guys. What silicone boost pipes do people run? I have a set of forge ones on my Fabia vRS but the pipes seem different on the Octavia despite the engines both being the ASZ. I would like something that is bolt on but dont mind replacing the top hard pipe as it looks quite restrictive? Cheers

I dont want clean oil. I wand good oil and triple Q isnt good. I found it it ok for a little bit maybe a 1-2k but then the engine starts feeling wierd. I've have used it in the past in a few engines. My old vRS the fabia and my e39 530d. And tbh quantum oil is cheaper and I've found far superior.

Cheers guys. It has a 6 speed. I got the car. It's an asz engine same as my fabia vRS and has the early long ratio 6 speed gearbox. The car is a 2004 where my fabia is a 2005. Before I use it regular I will be doing the cam belt water pump and stat, aux belt and full service. Last owner used crappy triple qx in it. Only been in the car a month and its black already. Personally hate that ****. Clean the egr out too and see. Oh and the brakes are crap! Remind me of the fabia brakes before I put my octavia vRS front and rear on it. Am on the look out for some vRS but and LCR brembos. Thinking of making this a derv version of my octavia before I broke her for parts. Hi guys. Been a while. Anyone know if the pd 130 came with a 5 speed or 6 speed box? Hpi says 5 speed but seller says 6? I am in need of a run about car as my e39 has sprung a fuel leak. Am using my old(now my wifes) mk1 fabia vRS and loving how pokey she is. Specially after Clive remapped it for me. Still going strong after 200k mile so I know the 1.9tdi is solid Tia

Bringing this back, anyone know if the lights can be fixed? Or best place to get new lenses from for xenons?

bringing this back up. This warning is still coming up. it is now on all the time till you put the headlights on. I've checked the level sensor wiring and it all looks fine. I am getting no codes on VCDS there is no bulbs out at all. Warning comes on with the ignition and stays on when all lights are off or side lights are on. goes off when the headlights are on. any more thoughts guys?

Hi guys n gals. Could anyone help me out please. Just had the fabia vRS MOTd and it got picked up on again for crap headlight pattern. He said it's got worse and won't pass next time. Now I have the lense polishing kit from 3m so will get that done but I've heard that it's not the lenses, it's the projectors that burn out? Anyone know where I can get some new internals? TPS want over 600 notes a side. The car has factory xenon lights fitted. Cheers Billy

Hello all. Not been on here for a long long time. I have still got my Fabia vRS, lately it's started showing a bulb warning. It beeps up after a few seconds of starting and stays on with all the lights off or just sidelights on. I've checked all the bulbs and all work all are std bulbs. It goes off if you put the headlights on though or start up and switch them straight on. Soon as you go down to side lights or switch them off you get the check lamp come on. Any help would be grear Tia

Dealer or private? What warranty is there? Reg of the car? Cam belt done? If not it should of at 60 and will be due again soon so budget for it. Gl

If I keep the fabia I'd like to sort it all out right as these vogtland ones are ok but not the bast and we're only a cheap stop gap. Was thinking of going back to std but I do like the stance now. You can get short rears too from the cuppa.

You need shorter bumpstops tho. Front cuppa ones and I trimmed the rears down.

I have the same kit. Std drop links. Only time I have issues is when going fast over sharp bumps or potholes. The rebound/bump is **** on them.

Yea I saw that it was on the next page after Ide replied. I know it's not in my head that 2t oil makes a difference. I'll try it ill get the wife to fill the tank a few times and say pop some in on on or 2 and leave it out random.

You are correct. But What you haven't mentioned is though it's the same fuel it's not the same mix of additive that goes in. Each tanker is filled at the same time as the extra additives go in depending on the retailer specifications. So altho it's same fuel it's additives are different

approx 200-1 and I got 2 5l cans of comma mineral oil for less than 30 quid. Can't think what it equals but in the 2 tanks I've used without it the back of the car is black with carbon and there is a puf of smoke on start were now I've filled with 250ml of oil and 55l tesco diesel I get no smoke at all on start and it's quieter.Also idles smoother too. To me it's worth it.

Only use mineral not synthetic or part synthetic. Mineral 2t oil burns better where the synthetic and part synthetic don't due to the make up. Fuel is fuel. Supermarket petrol and diesel comes out the same tanks as shell esso BP and others. Depending which retailer it's off to depends what additives are added. That's all. Base fuel is the same no matter what including 95 Ron petrol and 99 Ron. It's purely additives that bump them up to that. I use 2t oil in mine. Makes it nice and quiet sharper throttle and no smoke at all. Think its comma I'm using. Put 250ml in a 54ish l fill in my fabia. Didn't put any in this last 2 tanks because I forgot to fill me bottle to take to the filling station and the car sounds and feels naf.

Neither will fit under 16s I don't think. Lcr brembos need a certain rim to clear without spacers. I'd go lcr brembos but really they pretty much the same. Slightly different calliper design. Iirc lcr brembos have external ballance pipes?

no probs mate, glad its of some use. I think once its set you only need t use the dash button until you want to up the miles between services.
