  1. Revisiting my thread now that I've purchased a new switch. Can anyone point me to instructions for accessing / removing the centre tunnel please?
  2. I had the same problem with a newly-purchased 2013 car and read that it's common for the the rocker switch in the front light assembly to corrode and fail. I found a replacement unit on ebay from a breaker who was knowledgeable of the issue and had checked the switch on the unit he was selling. It was an easy replacement thanks to a helpful youtube video and the rear roof lights were reactivated with the new unit. (If I can do it, anyone can!)
  3. Hoping someone can put my mind at rest here... new to Skoda, bought my Mk3 (2013) Octavia estate about 4 weeks ago and I've gradually been investigating what optional extras I have (none 🀣) what should work but doesn't, and what I don't need to worry about. One thing concerning me a bit is that I don't have a lamp on the instrument cluster when the handbrake is on. Before I bought the car it had new discs and pads (and an MoT FWIW), and the handbrake has little travel. I don't know if that's relevant. I do have a yellow warning triangle and a message saying a bulb is out, but I assumed that related to the exterior bulbs. Could it be pointing to the cluster bulb? Or is the issue more likely with the handbrake? Thanks for any pointers.
  4. Edit: this evening I did see the parking aid on the screen for a few seconds when reversing and heard normal reversing beeps, so the system potentially works. Time to clean the sensors.
  5. Hi, I'm very new here and under less than ideal circumstances (story for another time), I just bought a 2013 Octavia 1.6 TDi estate (mk3). It came with a couple of minor faults, and I'd like to be able to get to the root cause. I've been reading posts on this site almost non-stop for 2 days and have a lot more information now, but I need to get the car plugged in to make progress. Niggle 1 - Bulb warning light permanently shows on dash. Infotainment screen says it's OS headlamp which is actually working, as do all the lights front and rear. Paperwork shows that this showed up years ago but apparently has never been resolved. Niggle 2 - Long beep when selecting reverse gear, reverse sensors inop and not ticking, nothing on screen. Reverse lights both working. If anyone near Dorset/Somerset/Wilts with a VCDS would be willing to help a lady out I'd be eternally grateful (not expecting a freebie). Thanks.
  6. Hi, sorry to jump on an old thread, but my just-purchased 2013 estate came with this issue and I'd like to rectify it (especially if I can do that for Β£30). Did you need to code the replacement parking aid module?
  7. Hello all, just purchased my first Skoda, an Octavia 1.6 diesel estate (2013) yesterday, so I'm busy scouring the forum for information and the benefit of your collective experience. Hopefully in time I'll be able to make a contribution as well ☺️ Cheers Jellingtonbean
