  1. To be fair I have owned 6 Octavia's and all have been brilliant hence buying the Sports Line as the vehicle looks stunning in Velvet Red. All of the 1.5 Act engines 150 BHP have performed extremely well and the fuel consumption has been outstanding my last SEL even reached an incredible 70 MPG on a long run indeed my present Sports Line achieved 68 MPG on a 90 mile trip for a new vehicle was very impressive. I have never noticed anything untoward when the ACT kicks in. Strangely the 1.5 116 BHP MHEV DSG I owned whilst fuel efficient didn't surpass the MPG achieved on the 150BHP and averaged about 55 MPG which is still good. As I have recorded my disappointment with the sports Line is owing to the issues I have described. I have notified the dealer of my disappointment and of the issues so let us see
  2. Ok Thank you AFCBNUT. I will see how it goes I am keeping the revs higher when approaching roundabouts as on the last occasion the vehicle died as I changed from 4th to 2nd and was about to enter the said roundabout the guy behind me wasn't sympathetic !!!!
  3. Did they sort the problem ? I ask as I have a new Octavia Sportline manual gear box which apart from having an annoying sound at start up like a grinding noise it also has on 3 occasions just cut out when at a slow speed and no I didn't stall it as when I have stalled you can depress the clutch and the engine re-starts, On these occasions though the ignition goes off and you are left drifting at low speed with no power steering. The engine only restarts when you are stationary and have gone through the usual start up procedure. I have owned my Sportline for 3 weeks it is the 6th Octavia I have owned and I have never experienced such an issue, I am reluctant to take it in as I cannot replicate the issue to order and likewise with the noises which do not interfere with the operation of the vehicle I just turn the radio up !! The vehicle in Velvet red looks fantastic but I am very disappointed that I am experiencing such annoying issues on a new car.
