Hi Pete, Thanks for this write up! I decided to take a punt and fire the parts cannon, changing the airbag module as it was only £14 on eBay for a used one. Was the same part number etc. Changed and all went away, verified with VCDS, all the crash sensor serial numbers came back etc. Did a few power cycles and ignition on and off and was fine. Checked with VCDS and again, all good. Looks like it had an internal fault or corrupted itself from one of the many potholes in the UK haha. Thank you

Thanks for the reply Pete. I did check the drivers side (all ok), and I will passenger tonight. I removed the steering wheel airbag, all visually ok. Clock spring looks sealed and undamaged (all buttons and lights work) It is showing for all crash sensors, not just in the doors. Is the airbag loom or SRS system on a LIN network? The loom going into the module behind the dash on the tunnel is fine and undamaged.

Hi all, My Skoda Superb 2 2008 TDI, whilst driving, popped up with an airbag fault. VCDS was connected and all of the crash sensor sub systems were showing “000000” Does anyone know what would cause this. I do not have VCDS but have a friend that does. Has anyone come across this or know where to start so that when they next come round we have a good place to start fault finding. Thanks all

Hi all, Long term lurker (without account), first time poster. My partner (used to be my car) has a 2008 Superb 2 CBBB DSG SE spec. I’m wondering if the collective hive mind could help me, or the very least point me in the right direction? I’m getting multiple crash sensor driver and passenger faults in VCDS, indicated by an airbag MIL. Could this be a faulty ABS module due to crash sensor faults on passenger and drivers side? And the sub system serials showing “000”? Is there common issues or any known locations to look for? Could loom fatigue at the door hinge cause this? Though I can’t see both sides having the issues exactly at the same time. I will check behind the radio as that was removed and refitted about 11 months ago. Any input would be fantastic!
