  1. Note to the post above: I only tried to reset the DSG using the throttle method. I didn’t actually went to a shop for an actual reset (basic settings in vcds)
  2. @Evolution13 yeah the software issue seems more likely. 3-4 shift is perfectly smooth. It’s only the 5-6. If it was hardware problem I think 3-4 would have had a much worse jerk. Oil in the MCU was changed by a friend of mine who has done it countless times. And yes, it started not directly after the change, but after some time. And no, it’s not leaking.
  3. Hi @varaderoguy , thanks for the reply. Will get the obdeleven. I actually tried the adaptation reset multiple times. It didn’t clear that specific issue. Other shifts are perfectly smooth. It’s the stubborn 5->6 upshift. It’s not as bad in manual mode, but still I can feel it
  4. I bought a 2014 Octavia 1.8 TSI on 110.000 kilometers (65.000 miles) with a DQ200 transmission. (It’s real mileage, I have verified it in multiple ways). During the test drive everything was perfect. However after a month it started doing weird stuff when upshifting from 5 to 6. It feels like 2 jerks. In first you jolt forward and in second you jolt backwards. By watching the revs I realised that the shift itself happens normally, but throttle reapplication is very weird. It first cuts off, waits for about half a second and then reapplies it. It only happens on mid throttle as well. On full send it also pauses the throttle for longer than I wish but it doesn’t make a jerk. On light throttle it’s perfectly smooth. Mechatronic and gearbox oil was also changed before the sale. Moving off (forward and reverse) in high load scenarios doesn’t make any jerks. I even tried to move off with a parking brake applied and it did it smoothly (in the Netherlands there aren’t a lot of hills to try hill starts) I would appreciate any clues or DIYish solutions (I.e not spending 500 euros for a VSDC cable). It’s not like the car is undriveable, but it’s fairly annoying when you merge onto a motorway. Thank you
