  1. I have a 2024 SEL 4 x 4 with the 18in wheels. I live in North Scotland so have to either get spare wheels and winter tyres or all season tyres. I have opted to fit Michelin Cross Climate 2 to the standard 18in wheels. I have also switched from a Passat Alltrack estate which I also ran with all season tyres. I would say that the ride and comfort in the Superb is the same or even better than the Passat, both on 18in wheels. From Cariston's reply above it looks like you could fit the 17in wheels you already have, but I have no problems recomendng the all season tyres.
  2. I have a 2024 SEL estate and I use it tow my caravan - no problems there, but today I took out my small trailer (garden waste to recycling) only to find I could not see the trailer in any of the mirrors. When reversing the camera is really handy however it would be nice to be able to keep an eye on the trailer while driving along. Does anyone know if it is possible to keep the reversing camera working once you are up to normal speeds?
  3. I have had the same problem getting the glove box out, and once you get it open you find that there are two spring loaded knobs that come out from the body of the dashboard and locate against the glovebox. The easiest way to release the glove box is to press these two knobs outwards rather than squeezing the glove box sides. You have to be careful not to mark the plastic with whichever tool you use - I used a long flat headed screwdriver. You notice that the instruction diagram above have the pressing in arrows (3) actually pressing outwards! My previous car was a B8 Passat with the same requirement to remove the glove box to get to the fuses however the glove box sides were far far more flexible than the Skodas and squeezed in easily.
  4. I have a 2024 SEL 193ps 4x4 I bought second hand from a Skoda dealer in January - I had to wait till last week to have a Skoda OEM electrically released tow bar fitted. They kept the car for 2 days in case there were any coding problems with it. The towbar and the electrics all work fine. I understand that all Mark 4 Superbs now come with 'towbar preparation'. This means that wiring is in place to the nearside of the boot. The wiring that comes with the towbar includes a control unit that connects to this wiring. Google 'skoda foldable towbar instructions' (the PDF is too large to attach)
  5. Hi Have you checked the heating/AC controls on the infotainment screen? If you click on the 'rear' settings there is a lock button at the top - this stops small people fiddling with the rear seat heater controls!!
  6. I just collected my new to me 2024 Superb SEL estate, the 193 TDi with 4x4. The car is amazing and is exactly what I hoped for except for the front seats. Both my wife and I find them uncomfortable after about half an hour travelling. The problem is that there seems to be a very low level lumber support like bulge that presses forward into your pelvis. The electric lumber support works fine but leaves this pressure area even when fully retracted. As far as I can tell the massage works OK and does not leave any swollen areas behind. Is this normal for these Ergo seats? - I had the older version in my Passat Alltrack that did not have this problem. If this is how they are meant to be I will just keep on footering with the seats to see if I can get them more comfortable. Thanks for your help
  7. I had assumed that the specified space saver would be the same diameter as the standard tyre - wrong! According to tiresize.com the standard tyre, that according to my paper work, is a 235/45 R18 is 26.3in while the space saver is 24.9in. I agree this might make for a very unhappy Haldex system. I will now have to investigate a full sized spare if I can get it to fit. That will have to wait till I actually get the car home and check out the boot. What have other people done about getting a spare tyre for your Mk4?
  8. Hello I am about to take delivery of a 2nd hand 2024 Mk 4 Superb estate 4x4 with the TDI 193ps engine. As far as I know it has one of these skooshy tyre inflators so I have been researching space saver spare tyres. The Mk4 accessory brochure lists a space saver wheel 4.0Jx18 ET 28 with a 125/70 R 18 tyre at £191. No cheaper options seem to be available - road angels are £250! Looking for cheaper alternatives on Ebay only produces the Mk3 spec wheels 3.5J x 18 ET 25 with exactly the same tyre. So the question is - would the older and cheaper wheels fit my Mk4? Has anyone experience of fitting this older wheel? Thanks
