Rear axle problems
Yep, will do in fact I've already got a spare by accident ( researched and ordered that many brake hoses ). You wouldn't think it would be so hard to find but there you go. I'm very pleased it's done. I hope it helps others if they encounter the same problem. These jobs would not of fazed me a few years back but now are beyond my capabilities so I have to put my trust in a local firm who are very good.

Hi, everybody just an update on the brake hose problem. Job all done now, finished up with a rear hose for a Audi A2 it's a febi billstien, 215mm long part number 23158. Has same ends as original hose So if anyone else has this problem I hope this helps them. Here's new hose in place.

Rear axle problems
Yep,the original in the picture is168mm which is the correct one for the car from new ( I have measured it ). I've researched loads of brake hoses you would think it would be easy to find, but not so easy. So like I've said audi a4 hose is 208mm which will give me 40mm extra length and the yeti one is hopefully 244mm (not all are) which is 76mm extra so when it's on the ramp they have to be offered up to see which is best. Surprisingly mk4 golf rear hoses are same as fabia 168mm The original hose on the original axle only has a slight u bend in it for flexing so well see. My car has drums so only one hose each side. Thanks for your input.

That's something else for me and them to agree on when the jobs finally completed which hopefully won't be to long.

Rear axle problems
You obviously haven't read all posts! The axle fitted is from I'm axles, the proper one for the car. The issue is the nearside brake hose bracket has been manufactured short which has caused the problem of the original brake hose being stressed hence I'm now left with the job of finding a slightly longer brake pipe to rectify the problem. Please read all the posts relevant before jumping to conclusions that are total unfounded.

Rear axle problems
No just the rear brake hose because the new skoda rear axle hose bracket is slightly wrong, have you read previous posts? Fitting an audi a4 axle not for me.

Rear axle problems
Unfortunately no good both ibiza 6j and polo6rc front is massively to long and rears are shorter than in my picture. I have found one from audi a4 rear at 208mm long one in picture is 168mm long. Also waiting on skoda yeti rear at 244mm long so things are looking promising.

Rear axle problems
Hi all, just an update on my axle woes. Axle from I'm axles now fitted by my garage i use but not without a few problems. When said axle arrived I opened up packing and noticed some of the shock mount welds were a bit questionable and contacted I'm axles, they replied saying all there axles were the same but said I could have a refund but by this time it was only 4days till it was to be fitted so decided to leave it at that and thought maybe I was being over cautious. So it was duly fitted and on collecting car the mechanic said although it went well the nearside brakehose bracket didn't seem right and now the hose was a bit tight. (See pics ) So I contacted them again with pics and voicing my concerns to which they replied bend the bracket to release the tension. That could of been done on the offside bracket if needed but the nearside is a much beefy thing with a very short tab on it which bending wouldn't of helped as it's 40- 50mm to short. So I'm now trying to find a brake hose that's slightly longer than the original which will sort it. I've replied to them stating the safety issues of this, they recon there selling approx 10 skoda axles a day and never heard of this before so maybe I got a Friday afternoon axle who knows?

Yep I have contacted them, £260 for mine apparently with mine on drums there dearer than having disc brakes. Bear in mind no stub axles or backplates so they have to be swopped or replaced.

Rear axle problems
Hi to all, I've recently bought a 2012 Fabia2 1.6 tdi and allready had a load of repairs to do. the rear axle has a rot hole in the side of one of the spring cups so will need replacing. I may go down the new route which is £260 or it may be secondhand which could be £80 to £180 ish. Bearing in mind the fabia shares floorpans with ibiza, audi a1, vw fox, vw polo. I know where there's a good axle on a 2013 ibiza 1.6tdi (drum brakes same as mine). Has anyone done this replacement before the part numbers are the same but for the first three digits one is 6R0 and the other is 6Q0 the rest of the numbers are the same. Any information would be of interest.

New just saying hello
Hello to all, just to say hello and hope everyone good. I've had some skodas in the past, Favorit, felicia car and van. Recent years mainly vag stuff (favorite was bora 1.9tdi 150 brake) but now I've bought a 2012 fabia2 1.6 tdi which looks like it's going to be a whole lot of pain so that's why I'm here. Thanks for reading.🙂
