Yeah I'm sure it works for some, but for me it felt like it was trying to back-power at least parts of the radio unit through the programmer which obviously doesn't work :) Maybe there are different hardware variants out there. I do wholeheartedly agree on not trusting a language model on quite specific electrical engineering...

I can confirm that this worked fine for a 2017 Rapid Spaceback with Train MEN2_EU_SKGPx_P7130L. I did have to desolder the EEPROM, because the power LED of my CH341 programmer immediately went out whenever I connected the board through a clamp.
