  1. Hi, Title says it all. I have sourced a Radio Angel stereo for my Mk2 Octy. Naturally my Octy has CANbus and has the high and low red-white cables in the connector. My question: Can I separate the red-white CANbus cable from the ignition/switched red wire of my Radio Angel stereo with a rocker switch and use that switch to manually turn off the bulk of the power to the stereo when the engine is off to avoid battery drain? Cheers, Ben
  2. Hi Had a flat battery the other day, replaced it with a new one as the old one was getting on a bit. New battery has now gone flat as well. No internal lights or cigarette lighter was left active/plugged in. I've had a play with the multimeter and found that Fuse 36 (headlamp washer) was blown and when it was bridged with the multimeter, there was current going through, so I'm thinking a parasitic drain there? I pulled the front left headlight but couldn't find a power connector to the headlamp washer as the rear - could anyone explain where it is so I can continue hunting this parasitic draw! Kr, Ben
  3. Hi guys, A longshot that any of you still have these vehicles, but does anyone have a pic of the hosing that was causing the issue? I think I'm battling the same issue on my Octy and I want to know where I should be looking!
  4. SORTED! The battery has been replaced and the car is back on the road 👍 Cheers all!
  5. Thanks for this mate. I've got a battery I can put in tonight to see if that solves it. I'll keep you posted 👍
  6. Hi all, Model: 2010 1.9tdi Skoda Octavia Mk.II Got in my car this morning, turned the key, and nothing... Then the radio lights, hazard light, and all dashboard backlighting LEDs began to rapidly flicker. The flickering is accompanied by a mediumly loud clicking sound. I've checked the battery and I'm getting 12V across the terminals at rest and a drop to 8V(ish) when the key is inserted and turned one notch. I'm normally pretty handy when it comes to mechanics, but electrical makes me want to... Nevermind. Any advice or guidance is appreciated, I need the car back up and running ASAP (for work and family). Cheers, Ben
