  1. Hi yes agree with all those things, we have done a few, I think the best thing is to contact the local dealer whose stamps are in the boot and see if they will provide me with a breakdown of what they have done, the previous owner was in her 80's so has not kept all the paper work... Thanks for your replies.
  2. Hi thanks for the attached, neither of the 2 stamps seem to show the 34F7 stamp, I could contact the dealership and ask them to confirm.
  3. Hi Gaz, just had a quick look at the YT it's for a 1.6 diesel, the under the hood layout is different to mine, but thanks for the link anyway!
  4. Hi Evolution, thanks for your reply. I have only owned the car since the beginning of the year so can't confirm about the oil change however I have had a look in the tire well and there are 3 stickers, one is I believe the original one put in at the time the car was built it has all the details of the car, engine, paint etc.. then 2 local dealer stamps (see pics) one is dated Dec 2014 so it might be that the work was done? Wasn't quite sure what your "'34F7'" meant. Re 'best to know what you are doing' I totally agree, my brother who does any work on the cars is a mechanical engineer and is very switched on, he has changed oil in regular gearboxes but has never worked on a DSG box in a Skoda. The Haynes paper manual does not cover the DSG and beside YT I am struggling to find exact info on what to do/ don't do for this car so hence my request here!
  5. Hi all I am fairly new to this website and definately new to being a Skoda owner! I purchased the above car a few months ago and as we (my family and I) usually do all our own car maintenance although we are pretty clued up I purchased a Haynes manual for the car it covers the 'usual' stuff but unfortunately it doesn't cover certain areas like the DSG, I want to replace the oil in the gear box and need to find a definitive answer as to what oil type, the quantity and also how to change it. So if anyone out there is able to help with any advice or trusted web links it would very much be appreciated. Thanks πŸ™‚
  6. Hi MijlsTired, sorry for the tardy reply. Yes I sent it off to the Remote Repair Centre via eBay, posted it Monday got it back today a week later, I think there was a delay with postage, anyway would recommend them, was happy to spend some ££ to have it done rather than do it myself. I got the old case back and took the Skoda badge out at put in the badge 'socket' on the unbranded (good quality) fob case. πŸ‘ Repair service for Skoda Seat VW Volkswagen 3 button remote flip key fob Case | eBay UK
  7. Hi thanks for your replies. Although we are handy with fixing almost anything, this, as you say is a job with the odd booby trap. I have found a place on-line (eBay) that will replace the case and supply a new battery - all for cΒ£27 + your postage for sending, I might go down that route, they have good feedback and also an external website and have been in business for 30years. Will post an update one I decide!
  8. Hi all, I have done a search to see if this topic has been raised before but nothing came 'back'! Anyway the Fabia I just bought came with only 1 set of keys 😏so I have had a new set etc... cut, however the condition of the set I was given is appalling, I think the person used their nails directly on the pads and its on it last legs, so I am looking for a shell/ case as replacement, there are lots on eBay but what this post is for is for help on getting the current case dismantled so I can check the exact layout inside to fit the pcb. Taking the battery cover out is easy, all the You Tube and Bing video's I have found are pretty useless and done by those with a sledge hammer and screwdriver! ie very poor and likely to damage the internals. If anyone has knowledge or a video they can share then great also if anyone can recommended somewhere else if eBay don't come up with the goods. My current fob has the led in the top right corner and the part # is 3TO.837.202C Thanks πŸ‘
  9. Hi all just to say job done πŸ‘the piece wasn't broken it had just fallen down, in < an hour it was found and refitted! Thanks for advice
  10. Lee01, just looked at your blog thanks for the added info and pictures πŸ‘
  11. Hi thanks for the last 2 replies to my question, it's dry here today (not sure how long for) so will venture outside with a print out of how to access the rear side panel and see if the clip has simply dropped down or broken...
  12. Hi Viejita, thanks for your reply, just had a look on skoda-parts so know where to look if I have to buy. Just need to think if it's worth all the effort taking the other parts off just to fix one item. AM always careful when working on a car but being 'older' parts go brittle and the next thing you know you have broken another piece fixing something simple!
  13. Hi All, just joined this website and have already posted a hello. Anyway I have just purchased a 2011 Fabia Estate SE TSI and can't lock the retractable boot cover lid into place, the clip on the passenger side has either broken or dropped down, I have read all the previous posts in this topic but have an additional 2 questions please, apologies if I have missed the answer in the last few posts! Is the clip part number the same for both sides? and secondly and more importantly where can I get these from at a decent (cheap) price should the part be broken and not just dropped down. Cheers
  14. Hello, just thought I would say hello as I am new to this website. I currently drive a VW Golf GTi Mk3 1996 but have just bought myself a Skoda Fabia Estate 2011, nice low milage - logbook says grey but I think it's a blue! The car needs a bit of work (paint mainly) as the previous owner didn't know the width of the car and or garage opening πŸ˜‰. I need to possibly get a Skoda part so will post in an area that I have already managed to read on-line. Thanks All
