Got Locked Inside My Car - “Key Not Recognised”!
Thanks for the replies. After giving the matter further thought and reading up on it, I now believe that the key, being in a tight pocket of my jeans, un-synchronised itself by the buttons being inadvertently pressed a number of times when the the car was out of range. Then when back inside and and furiously fiddling with the fob pressed against the start button, it re-synchronised as it should and at the same time, I must have unwittingly locked the car, thereby activating the safe lock! For that scenario to be correct, it would mean that an un-synchronised key fob will still unlock the car (?). Any thoughts?

Got Locked Inside My Car - “Key Not Recognised”!
Frightening experience today – got locked inside my car (2022 Octavia 1.5 TSi SEL). Unlocked ok (by touching door handle) and got in, then noticed the hazards flashed once, then I tried to start the car as usual with the key in my pocket and it was dead – just a sign on the dash saying “Key Not recognised”. Tried putting the key near the start button and still nothing. Fiddled with the key buttons to no avail, then found the doors and windows had all locked from inside and I couldn’t get out! I tried all sorts, then after a few minutes, whatever I did or didn’t do in my panic, it started as normal and everything was working again – and it has been ok since. The key battery appears to be well up, as the red light flashes ok and the fob works the locks from a considerable distance remotely, so I don’t suspect that the battery is tired. Barring a malfunction of some kind (this hasn’t happened in the six months I have had the car), I am wondering if any of the following might have triggered the problem? · Interference from another car in the car park. · I was parked close to a very heavy steel barrier. · My wife and I unlocked both the front doors (by touch) at the very same time as each other. Also, what exactly does “Please Check Safelock” mean on the dash every time I switch off and might this have a bearing? I would be grateful for any opinions and has this happened to anyone else? Thanks in advance.

Automatic Locking When Moving Function.
Thanks for all the responses. I followed the Central Locking menu from Vehicle Settings, where "Locking upon walking away" and other options were present, but there was no "Locking upon driving" (or moving) option there. If it was ever present, it might have been deleted with software updates as suggested. Guess I'll just have to live with it (only I find it so irritating, and also, I wonder how long it will be before the mechanism wears out!). I don't fancy doing the OBD thing, what ever that is. Cheers!

Automatic Locking When Moving Function.
Re. 2022 Octavia 1.5TSI SE L. Is it possible to disable the "automatic locking when moving" function? I have explored Vehicle Settings and arrived at Central Locking, but the option is not listed there. T.I.A.

Dumb Questions from a Newby!
Thanks, but would that apply to a manual model like mine? (I should have specified I got a manual box).

Dumb Questions from a Newby!
Hi, I have two questions that don't seem to be explained very well (at least to me!) in the handbook. (2022 Octavia SE L TSI). What will happen if I close the doors and accidentally leave the key inside the car? (Keyless KESSY). When parking the car, if the Auto-hold "A" is lit up on the electronic handbrake (ie. engaged), is it still necessary to also pull up the main lever "P"? Thanks in advance!

Hello Everyone - new Octavia owner here!
Pleased to have found this forum! Loving the 2022 Octavia that I have recently acquired, after owning a Vauxhall Insignia for eight years. Now retired, I'm hoping to get around the country a bit in my new wheels.
