I have a 2016 Rapid Spaceback on which we recently had the windscreen replace under insurance due to a nasty stone crack/chip. When the guy was replacing we had a bit of ordeal due to the fact he said they'd sent the wrong screen - the one they sent didn't have a rain sensor for the automatic wiper. We didn't appear to have automatic wipers before, but now I thought that we should do, I said I was happy to wait for the right one to turn up. This was a few weeks ago now, but now the whether is a bit drier, it's become apparent to me that the front wipers no longer turn off. The off position on the wipers causes intermittent wiping - the intermittent - also intermittent. At first I had thought it was a dirty sensor - I have cleaned the outside of the screen by the sensor. But even if this was causing issue , off should still be off, as far as I understand. The automatic wiping just replaces the intermittent function. Anyway, I have now disconnected the sensor completely, reset the wiper settings and it's still happening. The only thing that stops them is removing the wiper fuse - which is obviously not much good! Any ideas on what to try next?
