  1. Thanks. Yes located the fuse ( on the M4 to Bristol yesterday because the wipers were driving me mad) There's another fuse listed as being for the sensor but removing that didn't seem to have any effect (and I think I've eliminated the sensor as a cause now anyway). Will give it a try this weekend.
  2. Came across came across this thread in the Fabia forum. Is the process likely to be the same as the OP describes for the Rapid?
  3. I have a 2016 Rapid Spaceback on which we recently had the windscreen replace under insurance due to a nasty stone crack/chip. When the guy was replacing we had a bit of ordeal due to the fact he said they'd sent the wrong screen - the one they sent didn't have a rain sensor for the automatic wiper. We didn't appear to have automatic wipers before, but now I thought that we should do, I said I was happy to wait for the right one to turn up. This was a few weeks ago now, but now the whether is a bit drier, it's become apparent to me that the front wipers no longer turn off. The off position on the wipers causes intermittent wiping - the intermittent - also intermittent. At first I had thought it was a dirty sensor - I have cleaned the outside of the screen by the sensor. But even if this was causing issue , off should still be off, as far as I understand. The automatic wiping just replaces the intermittent function. Anyway, I have now disconnected the sensor completely, reset the wiper settings and it's still happening. The only thing that stops them is removing the wiper fuse - which is obviously not much good! Any ideas on what to try next?
  4. I've somehow never signed up to this Forum before, though I've browsed it a lot following googling of various issues on my two Skodas: a 2008 Roomster that unfortunately got written off last year (loved that car, a proper tardis, but not without its issues and quite agricultural/noisy, and now a 2016 Rapid Spaceback, which is much more comfortable and feels quite modern without being the sensory overload of many new cars. Anyway, I have a very specific question about windscreen wipers, so I'm off to find the right part of the forum to ask that.
