You won't need a new barrel, I've attached the part needing replacing above. I'd save a bit of money and do it yourself but either way, definitely cheaper than replacing the lock and keys for the wheel and doors.

Hi Guys, After experiencing this same issue for a few months, I replaced this part (See attachment). It's on the inside of the lock and it had just seized up on me in the heat of this year's heatwaves. Part number is: 6RD 905 865. For my Fabia Mk2 Combi at least. Hope this was some help to you, and hopefully saves some stressing. New driver but I love tinkering with random bits and bobs so it wasn't hard to get to, just diagnosing is the boring part.
