Hi, I’ve had the car for the last 2 weeks to test it out. The mechanics at Škoda replaced the wiring harness leading to the control unit, and it doesn’t happen as often as it used to. Before, this warning/display used to show up more on the right side, and now it’s more on the left side. The fault mainly occurs when I brake sharply, e.g. from 30 km/h down to 7-8 km/h. This problem showed up the most for me in underground parking garages. Can anyone help me with this? I’ve talked to a lot of mechanics and they all told me it’s not the battery.

The car has original sensors that were repainted, but we tried replacing them with original, unpainted sensors, and the problem still occurred the same way.

Yes, they are original OEM sensors — the car has only ever been serviced at an authorised Škoda service centre, so no aftermarket parts have been fitted at any point. Do you maybe have any another lead that can help me ?

The car is 5 years old and the original main battery has never been replaced. Nobody has tested it or even considered it as a possible cause so far. One thing worth mentioning: this issue happens roughly 60–70% more often when it’s raining compared to dry conditions. Could that be related to the battery?

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here has come across this exact issue, because after 7 months and multiple visits, neither my dealer nor Škoda’s technical support has been able to identify the cause. Car: Škoda Superb Sportline, 2021, 200kW Problem: When braking, the side sensors intermittently trigger a warning that there is an obstacle very close to the car — even though there is nothing there. It happens sporadically (not every time I brake) What has already been done (all without success): • Control unit replaced • Multiple calibrations of the sensors • Sensors themselves replaced • Wiring in the front bumper replaced • Wiring to the control unit replaced • Software/firmware updates applied • Sensor mounting points inspected • Sensors recalibrated again Despite all of the above, the fault keeps recurring.
