  1. I’m still waiting for the dealer to get back 🙄. Ill chase them up next week and see if they’ll sort it out.
  2. These are still available if anyone is interested. I’ve added some more closeups of all the alloy wheels
  3. Hi there, they’re away at the moment, back tomorrow However, I have now managed to send a PM on here with my phone number if that’s easier. Top right of the screen, envelope symbol for messages.
  4. Just found the service record. Brake fluid was marked as done as “additional work carried out” at its service a year ago just before 15k. 👍🏻
  5. It’s an ex-mobility on 20k miles so fully serviced. In fact it was serviced twice in the two months before I got it as the dealer wanted to make sure they weren’t relying on someone else’s previous service. I was given a printout of the previous services when I got it, but they seemed a brief overview, I shall request a detailed report of what was done. But clearly lots to think about.
  6. Makes sense, thanks. I’ve still to decide if after my 1 year used car warranty I take out the additional 2 year service plan/warranty, when I believe they’d set it to fixed anyway. Sounds expensive but takes any worry away. In the past I’ve always serviced at a local mechanic as soon as the initial warranty runs out but I worry these newer cars are less easily fixed outside the dealer network with all the fancy features.
  7. Okay thanks for that. When my superb was scrapped after write-off the salvage advert described the engine as “noisy” and “rattly”. It only had 138k (I had it from new) so maybe a whole life of variable servicing took its toll.
  8. Hi all, I’ve been searching for.a topic already out there on this but can’t seem to find one. I picked up my 2023 kodiaq a couple of months back and the dealer wanted to change it from flexible to fixed service, I assumed to make sure I went back more frequently. I always liked the flexible on my superb as it seemed to get the most value from a service so kept it on that. Some mechanics I’ve met in the past have said it’s a gimmick and you should always service every year or 10k miles. Is there a topic on this already that gives pros and cons? Any thoughts?
  9. Actually that’s probably not a question for this thread is it, a whole different subject maybe.
  10. Okay thanks I’ll keep an eye on that. I guess I’ll have to get my hands dirty and look under the bonnet! I might even enjoy it. I’m sure this has been discussed dozens of time here before, but mine is set to variable time and distance servicing. We live in the country and when we go out we generally drive without any real traffic for maybe 30 to 60 minutes at normal country road speeds. Is there a general consensus re variable v fixed service intervals?
  11. Reduce - as in too much so take some out. I never got the chance to check it. I was actually near the dealer when it happened and drove in and they just sorted it there and then under warranty. I didn’t get to speak to the actual operative and it’s been fine since. I think the assumption (from the service manger) was that at the service they had put a tad too much in and it eventually triggered a sensor somehow so they drained a bit off. I admit am rather put off investigating modern cars too much myself, I was a mechanic many years ago but my other cars are from 1959 and 1970 which I can deal with.
  12. I got a “reduce oil level” warning about a month after picking up my used petrol Kodiaq, which had been serviced when I picked it up. Not sure why the oil level would increase by itself in that time . 🤔
  13. Travall Dog Guard from a 2013 Skoda Superb Estate. I bought it new last October and the car was written off in June, so hardly used and as new. I’ve got a Kodiaq now and it won’t fit so hopefully someone here can benefit. We’re in North Wales, might be able to post it but no idea what the cost will be. I’ve not done enough posts yet to PM but if anyone is interested we can WhatsApp or something. £50
  14. Hmm no, don’t know what that is. Just WhatsApp text, mobile and email. Think my daughters do though if that’s a way to get a safe PM to you.
  15. Ahh right thanks, I didn’t think it would have just been me, it does sound like they should have been aware. I’ll see what they say.
  16. Hi all, Fairly new to the website so apologies if this has been raised before. I’ve just had a front and rear dashcam fitted by the local Skoda dealer and the rear one knocks out the radio. If I unplug the rear and leave the front on all is fine. I’ve googled around a bit and it seems to be an interference thing with the DAB signal. Of course I’ll take it back to the dealer to sort it out but was wondering if anyone had seen this before and what the solution was ? Cheers
  17. Hi all, Just got my Kodiaq a few weeks back after my Superb I’d had for 13 years was written off by a bus. 😡 Look forward to find out out more from the site, looks interesting 👍🏻
  18. Hi, splendid I was going to send a private message but being new to the site it won’t let me. So not sure how to make arrangements.
  19. Set of four alloys from a 2013 Skoda Superb Elegance. Part number 3T0601025E Style name Themisto Size 7.5J x 18 Offset ET46 PCD 5x112 Also the spare wheel with retaining nut and polystyrene insert. We bought the car as an ex-demo so it has always been always owned by us. In around 2015 we replaced the wheels and tyres with 16 inch steels as we wanted a softer ride. These wheels have been stored in an ISO container ever since. The car has now been written off so these are of no use to us. The tyres have reasonable tread and appear okay but because of their age (2015) it might be safest to assume they are beyond their serviceable life. There appear to be some minor scuff marks, but please judge the condition for yourself from the photos. We are in North Wales and I don’t want to courier these etc so be prepared to come and get them. £200
