  1. If it needed a hole cut around the pad, I thought maybe cut the hole large then fix a piece of rubber sheet (Old inner tube or something) to the cover with a hole in the rubber that sits snugly around the pad. A bit of a faff but probably worth the effort as only needs doing once and will help keep the worst of elements out. If you can check the fit over the pad when you do your job that would be appreciated. And do you think the Powerflex pads are just as good as the OE VW items? At half the price, it's only the OE modified cover at the front that is making me pause!
  2. Thanks, My plan was to fit a set and leave them there. How do they fit at the front, do the removable covers fit back over the top or do you need to leave them off? If the covers foul the pads, maybe they can be modified by cutting out a circle around them, obviously leaving enough clearance for the jack. I've found this set of OE pads which come with modified front covers. More expensive .. mmmm... https://www.akstuning.co.uk/shop/home/976-12156-genuine-vag-jacking-point-replacemementupgrade-kit-mqb-platform.html#/1013-jacking_point_options-skoda_octavia_mk3 Not sure why the MK7 Golf version which is cheaper is not the same as that that shown for the Octavia III. The rear is different, wonder if it fits?
  3. Hi OccyVRS, Thanks for that it's great to hear from someone who has used the Powerflex adaprers before I commit to purchase. Is their any reason that you remove them each time? Worry they might fall out?
  4. Take a look a this thread that should answer your questions: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/351208-trolley-jacking-points/ I think using the pinch welds is fine strength wise but not with the she standard jack for more than a wheel change as it is very likely to slide off. MY plan is to Lift on the pads then support on the pinch welds with axle stands (With appropriate adapters). I'm looking to get some of these Powerflex pads but was hoping someone on here could first offer some advice as to whether the points are recommended by Skoda.

I never bother with tyre rotation. I don't believe in it as the suspension geometry at each corner - Tracking, Camber etc - is different therefore you are switching tyres that have worn to match a particular suspension geometry to another corner with a different suspension geometry. The tyres just won't work properly. I used to race and even using tyres on the same corners on a clockwise circuit often wouldn't work if the same tyres had already been used on an anti-clockwise circuit. I accept that is very more extreme case but it demonstrates the point.

    Great PDI!
  7. A little late to this, however I have just purchased my 2016 VRS Estate. Are these four lift points approved by Skoda as there is no mention of them in the Owners Manual and I don't yet have a workshop manual to check for any references in that. I did spot these at Powerflex that appear to fit in the four locations discussed but are different to the Audi / ECS one referred to earlier. Has anyone tried these? https://www.powerflex.co.uk/product-details/Jacking+Point+Insert+/13883.html
