  1. If it helps this is what the latest manual says As soon as the interior monitor detects movements inside the locked vehicle, it triggers the alarm. As soon as the anti-towing protection detects tilts in the locked vehicle, it triggers the alarm. These functions should be deactivated if there is a possibility that the alarm will be triggered by movements (e.g. by people or animals) within the vehicle interior or if the vehicle has to be transported (e.g. by train or ship) or towed. Disable both functions once ▶ In infotainment in the menu,  →  → Open and close. ▶ By locking twice within 2 seconds.
  2. I had to get a new fob as the original one got damaged about a year ago Although after doing a google search I found company's who could supply fobs the problem was that they had to be programmed After doing a search I could not locate anyone who could do that In the end I had to bite the bullet and go back to the main dealer who I purchased the car from I seem to remember it cost about £250
  3. Hi All Apologies if this has already been posted I logged into the Skoda Update Portal today and found they have updated the Maps for the AMUNDSEN. I was using ECE1 2020 The new update is ECE1 2020/2021 I have downloaded this successfully to an original Skoda SD Card and it functions on the in car navigation with not problems There is now a warning on the portal when you download the file saying "Please note that after the update all previous function may not be available at all or in the original scale. Please note that updates may not be compatible with all previous devices. Compatibility of your MIB device with other devices can be found on http://compatibilitylist.skoda-auto.com. Performing this update you acknowledge aforementioned and assume the risk and liability arising therefrom Regards John
  4. This oddity has been commented on before and even if the tow option is not selected if still appears
  5. Hi I have had my Fabia since May and I would agree with Auric. Added to that I always have problems connecting the hot spot on iPhone to give an data connection I was told by Skoda technical that there was an incompatibility issue between the Apple IOS and Skoda's operating system Fortunately the iPhone does connect to allow me to use the hands free option. John
  6. Hi I found this link to a Skoda pdf document on another Skoda Forum, which covers the map update procedure I have compressed it using Tinyurl https://tinyurl.com/yx5u3b22 I have also posted here John How to update maps.pdf
  7. Hi I have just successfully updated the SD card and the procedure I used was very much inline with Rodger Best's post I used the ECE 1 2020 file After down loading from the Skoda Portal site, which took about 1 hour as I only have a 11 Mbps broadband connection. I deleted the MAP file on the original Skoda SD and using WinZip unzipped the EC 1 2020 file directly to the SD card. It card was recognised and loaded up, I have still to take the car out on the road to be able to check all the functions. I will update if I find any problems Purley out of interest I did try the same procedure using a Class 3 SD card formatted as Fat32 This was not recognised by the Navigation System. I stand to be corrected, but it would appear that you have to use an original Skoda SD card to update the data John
  8. I must say I always have problems with my iPhone hotspot and connecting to the Skoda WLAN I can normally connect OK but every time I turn the car off I have to reconnect, It does not remember the connection. I did talk to Skoda technical about this issue and was told that the Bluetooth version on the iPhone was not the same as on the one on the Skoda and this could cause problems. What is strange is that I never have problems with the phone hands free.
  9. Thanks FabRio I must say that's a crazy situation I sometimes think the people who develop these systems never use them or think them through John
  10. Hi I have a reversing camera fitted to my Fabia MK3 SE L Estate 2019 May build date I am very happy with the camera with one exception The camera shows a very clear view to the rear of the car with guide lines but on the left hand side is superimposed car image which partially obstructs the view. Has any one any ideas as to how the car image could be deleted? I have looked at all of the menu options but could not find one that does the job. Photo attached Thanks John
  11. I use the standard Tesco 95 octane in my 1.0 TSI I previously had the 1.2 TSI and did try the premium grade for about 1000 miles and I found no difference in the MPG or performance My 1.0 TSI is giving me and overall average of 41MPG the majority of that is journeys of less than 75 m in the outskirts of Manchester
  12. I have a Fabia (May 2019 build) but there seems to be more discussions here about the Amundsen. I am having a problems connecting my iPhone XR to get the connect services. I did speak to Skoda about the issue and I was told that there was an incompatible issue with the version of Bluetooth on the iPhone 6 upwards and the Amundsen. This caused a problem in getting a consistent connection when using the iPhone Hotspot. I do not have any problem with using the iPhone for hands free calling or Apple car play. In the Fabia forum I was aske about the 2 speed limits showing and yes I also get that
  13. I did the long run over the week end and did find that both speed limits were showing. I do still have the old original card and if I get the opportunity I will put that in again and se what happens.
  14. I have only used the map a few times since I put the new SD card in I have not noticed that 2 speed limits showing I am doing a longer run over the week end and will do an update I have done a screen shot of the Version Screen on the unit
