  1. Right folks, just 4 sleeps now until I embark on the epic TWIN TOWNS CHALLENGE as team ROADHAWKS

    http://www.twintown16.co.uk/

We've been busy behind the scenes and we now have our blog up with progress on our £500 car to track Demon tranformation https://atomhawk.wordpress.com/

Last time be did this event in 2014 in a 728i BMW but this time we were lucky enough to score a non runner Octavia VRS for £500.

The car was overall very good and worth a lot more than that, but it had developed an electrical fault preventing it from starting just a couple of days before the MOT ran out.

So the owner decided to cut his loses and buy a new car and put this up for sale on the forum, late last year. A deal was done and we had it towed home to Newcastle.

It turned out that the car's ECU had failed due to water ingress caused by a badly fitting rain tray under, a new ECU, a track rod end and a couple of brake pipes later and we had a running car with a fresh 12 months MOT!

  2. Another quick update guys, with just 2 weeks and 3 days left to go. We're racing against the clock to get this thing back on the road and tested for at least a week before we hit the track. Bodywork is all done, trim is going back into place....still need to paint the all the wheels.

Next week we're going to tax her and add the decals.

  3. Hi Folks,
As some of you may already know, I am involved in a hair brained scheme to raise money for the charity, Special Effect.

Myself, and two friends are going to be racing to France and back on a 2000 mile trip, via 3 of Europe's most demanding racetracks and a number of mad cap challenges......all this in a BMW 7 series that cost us £500!!

We've been busy, prepping the car and taking on the non motoring challenges. Check out our blog here:

Special effect adapts computers and games consoles for the disabled so that they can have access to all the things we take for granted.

  4. I had these fairly rare RH/Artec AD Cups refurbished for my Corrado VR6 project. They have been refurbed to a high standard by BettaBlast in Newcastle. Anthracite base with a deep, thick lacquer.....they look really deep in the flesh

They are 16" x 7" ET35, 5x100 and are fitted with 205/45/16 Hancook evo V12, 2 are almost new and the other 2 have 4mm. They come with genuine RH caps (£30 each to buy new)

They have covered less than 200 miles on the car since the refurb as I used them for one show and then upgraded to bigger brakes and then discovered these won't fit over them without spacers due to the deep dish design :(

Don't really want to run spacers on a car with almost 300bhp

    £550

  5. I was looking at them for a while and bid on several on eBay but they all went over £500 apart from the one that I won. Mainly due to a terrible ad and also some dents and dings.

If yours is is good nick, fuel tank isn't leaking then they go for about £750 to £900 on eBay.

Might be worth sticking it on there mate?

  6. I just bought 728i sport "individual" model with all the toys, sport seats, style 32 staggered 18" alloys etc

To do a charity rally to France.

£500 with mot to July '14

Not what you want to hear mate but they are probably at the very very lowest value right now so many being killed off each week for parts. If you can hold onto it for a year or two, the value will go up.
