  1. I run a 1970's Triumph. It has to be run on at least 97 RON fuel or it misfires, runs on  etc. It will pink very easily if the timing isn't spot on, the original settings are now useless as fuel has changed so much, so its done by ear rotating the distributor in tiny increments. Its fitted with ethanol proof fuel hose to stop it being dissolved, but its the effect on the rest of the system thats most concerning. 40+ year old seals and floats are delicate enough without being attacked by the ethanol.

  2. I had my Yeti for nearly 10 years and never found it uncomfortable, firm yes. One answer might be (and I appreciatice its rare) is to find a car with the electric drivers seat option, as it has more adjustments than the manual.

  3. I used to get simalar problems with my 2010 Yeti. I had a dash cam fitted and it used to slighty drain the battery on occasions. The car would still start, although the starter was sluggish, but it lit the dashboard up like a proverbial christmas tree. Recharging or switching the dashcam off solved the problem.

  4. Took my Karoq out in the snow for the first time today. It was useless. No grip at all. Traction control light flashing madly and wheels scrabbling all over the place. Defeated by a gentle slope my old Yeti would have sailed up. OK my Karoq isn't 4x4 but I expected better. Could the Bridgestone tyres be part of the cause? Just as wsell we don't get much of this weather.

  5. Apologies in advance as this must have been asked about previously.

I have music files on SD cards that I would like to play via the Columbus unit in my Karoq.  Is there a simple guide as to what leads/adaptors will work with the USBc sockets in the car? I've looked on Amazon but some say they don't work with in car media? Help please!

    TIA

  6. Read this thread with some interest. Its been a few years now, but something similar happened to me in my Mk1 Octy. An almighty bang/thump while just driving. Never found anything wrong, nothing had broken, everything worked. No debris on the road.  It was mooted that it might have been some sort of feedback through the sound system causing the 'bang'. Never happened again and noone came up with a better idea.

  7. I changed from Yeti on 17's to Karoq on 19's. No choice, its what the car came with. The ride, IMHO, is a little better in the Karoq. Yes it thumps over rough roads, but not to excess. The car overall is a lot quieter than the Yeti. Just beware of curbs, their is no protection for the rims.

  8. My Karoq has this feature. Its activated in the 'Assist' in the infotainment, but doesn't seem to be working. The screen in the maxidot just shows speed limits which it gets from the satnav.

Am I missing something here, or is it something else to go back to the dealer with? TIA

  9. Thread revival.

Had my Karoq 10 days now and still getting used to keyless entry. I keep the key in a signal blocking pouch. was out in the rain today and returned to the car and threw everything in the back. Car started OK. All was fine until I stopped at traffic lights, engine switched off. Lights go green press clutch and nothing, Message says no key detected. Panic. Pouch was on back seat so had to root about to find it, causing a bit of a queue. Turned out that the key had slipped back into the pouch, so I know it works.

Moral I suppose, put key where I can see it! Also worth noting that the car will run once started even if it can't detect the key and if it goes stop like this you can't move the car because the handbrake is locked on.

  10. Thanks for the reply. If you do get the video, please it.

I have been playing with the Satnav. Haven't tried Connect yet, but I found that if you input a postcode in the 'new destination ' line, I think it converts it to what looks like coordinates for latitude and longditude and plots the route, but dosen't store the postcode. There must be an easier way.

I don't have the VC but the map display is miles better than my 2010 Yeti.

I'm coming from a Yeti so will be interesting to see how I can get to grips with the infotainment!!

I've spent a couple of hours in mine with the Infotainment. The voice commands work rather well. You can change radio station and set navigation without touching the screen. All sorts of different setting to play with. Only thing at the moment, can't see if I can input postcodes in to the Nav system.

  12. New car, new questions!

Sorry if this has been asked before. I have Columbus unit in the car. Now on my Yeti I could input postcodes into the satnav. Try as I might I cannot see how to do this with the Karoq. Have tried voice command and keyboard and have read manual.  Any ideas or has this facility been removed?
