    VED rates

Anyone else had an issue with this? The online brochure and configurator both say that the 1.5l Edition produces 150 grams of CO2, which puts it in Band H £215pa. However looking at the invoice I have been charged £540 which is Band I. Quite a price hike. The car has now appeared on the DVLA website and CO2 is stated as 151 grams Band I. That 1 gram makes a big difference of £325 pa. I'll moan at my dealer for not pointing this out, but I doubt anything will happen. Andy
  2. Collected my Edition today. No torch, yes umbrella. Much quieter than the Yeti. Sunroof makes for an airy bright interior with beige trim. Ride on 19's seems on a par with Yeti on 17's. Far more room in the cabin and boot. Andy
  3. I don't really know. The dealer has been busy and I guess they may have a lot of orders coming through at the same time. My other thouht was that they may have met their September sales target and want to get October of to a good start, but they wouldn't hold my handover up for that reason, would they? Andy
  4. Its a 1.5 Edition with heated screen. Petrol Blue. Andy
  5. My Karoq has arrived at dealers. Just under 13 weeks from order. Will collect next Thursday. Andy
  6. There is a revised brochure (9/20) showing the current range. The Scout is stock only....https://az749841.vo.msecnd.net/sitesengb/alv1/fca0332f-63e7-4ca0-afeb-3ffe42208cdc/SKODA_KAROQ_Brochure_15SEP2020.890a806771a40d95647a69f6d698799f.pdf Andy
  7. I've been reading the manual for the Karoq ahead of my upcoming purchase and trying to get my head round all the features. I also run a classic (Triumph Spitfire) which is wonderfully simple and mechanical and carry a boot full of spares and tools around. I didn't know that I would need to the same for the Karoq. Andy
  8. Its been 10 weeks since my order. Supposed to have been built last week. Andy
  9. I've had two heated screens replaced on my Yeti (One by Autoglass, one by Autoscreens). Both worked fine afterwards as did the auto wipers and lights. Andy
  10. The Maxidot on my 2010 170 over-reads by about 15%. Suggests longterm average is over 50mpg, reality is about 44/45. Can get a genuine 50+ on a run if driven carefully. Andy
  11. Just checked my order with dealer and was rather surprised to find its due to be built next week (Aug 24th)! So thats nine weeks from order. So if all goes well will take delivery mid September. Andy
  12. I ordered 25th June (Edition with heated screen). Dealer wouldn't be drawn on delivery date, just 'before Christmas'. When i ordered my Yeti I waited 23 weeks. Andy
  13. Seems to be a common tale... I've had my Yeti for nearly ten years. Swopped my wifes '07 Fabia for something a lot newer and got looking at a Karoq, took it out for a test drive and ordered one. Now just got to wait while the factory builds it - seven weeks so far. Andy
  14. Not been on here in ages. I've decided to trade in my faithfull 10 year old Yeti and am just pondering which trim/engine/colour to have Leaning towards Edition 1.5, as has everything I'm ever likely to need. AndyC
  15. The Columbus SatNav iin my Yeti is now 8 years old and is of course getting out of date. Do I still have any options to get new maps loaded to it a reasonable cost, or is a new SatNay in order? TIA for any info. Andy

    Limp mode.

This is when the engine management system detects a fault an drops into a 'safe' mode. It basically dramaticly reduces engine power. The car struggled to reach 50 mph and had virtually no acceleration. Felt like it had about 20 bhp instead of usual 170. Andy
  17. 918 E. Didn't recognise the car, its a PORSCHE 918 SPYDER WEISSACH S-A. Very rare car. It went past the queue of traffic I was in and disappeared howling up the road at warp speed. Seen on A702 south of Edinburgh. Andy

    How long?

Picked mine up Dec 2010 from Allams in Epsom when James was active on the forums. Now on 51k miles. Will be keeping it for the foreseeable future. Andy Edit. What the heck happened to the font? Can't change the size.
  19. Looked at staying at Premier Inn in York a while back, it was something like £200 per room per night! Turned out they put the price up to stop the riff raff when the race meets are on. Still sold out even at that price, so supply and demand. Andy
  20. 51000 miles now on mine since Dec 2010. Changed the original tyres at 22k, the replacement Goodyear 4seasons still have a reasonable amount of tread left, so good for maybe 35k. Averaging around 42/44 mpg.Andy

    EGR Valve issues

My EGR failed a while back. Story here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/374545-limp-mode/ £470 to replace would only cover the cost of the parts in my case. Andy
  22. A folk type group I used to see in the 1970's did a song in a similar vein. Final line was 'Please excuse the shaky writing'. Andy
  23. Mine was replaced by Autoglass back in 2011. Efficent service at the time and has given no trouble in the years since. Andy
