  1. I found the source of the leak, the rear near side passenger door is letting water in, but not on the cill, it’s on the wheel arch along the plastic trim where between the carpet and the seat bolster. Am I looking at a new door seal or should I be checking for other issues?
  2. Thanks, very familiar with that smell of air on not being used for a prolonged period. This is more wet dog. Carpets appear dry Door villa dry.
  3. Have the car about 5 months now (2020) Bought during a long dry spell from a garage. Now that the weather has turned for a while I’m getting a wet dog smell in the car. what (if any) are the common leak areas in a superb I need to check for. if if to pull the carpets up, so be it, I may as well lay some sound deadening while I’m at it. The car does get some condensation inside and so a leak was my first thought. Door runners would be my first suspicion but anything very common?
  4. thank you for that Did the oil service last night, it would appear I am on variable so going by your image. Mine is: 30k km inspection or 365 days 15k km oil or 365 days 15k km is perfect for me as I flush and oil service about every 10k miles
  5. Xman, You were correct with your post very early on. You even had it in bold about keeping the trip button down . what I was doing wrong was unpressing and pressing again to move from service oil reset to inspection reset. thank you i look forward to searching for the thread in 30000km 😂
  6. UK import DSRB 150 Tdi 1st service 21000 Miles 4th May 21 2nd service 42000 Miles 16th Aug 22 48k miles on the clock now looking for Inspection. With the Inspection message on since mid August it would align with a yearly?
  7. Good point, not sure, can i check without VCDS ? it says service in 3days under car settings, with no mileage mentioned. will give it a go worth a shot
  8. Tried keeping it pressed and 2 observations, firstly, keeping the trip button held only lets me as far as the “Oil reset” option, I have to unpress and then press again to toggle to the next option “Service Interval reset”. Secondly, the inspection due message still takes over and then it reverts back to the main display page
  9. I thought I tried that and while still holding it, it reverted back to main display after message went away. However you have me questioning myself so I’ll try that shortly Thanks
  10. Limited to short video, but once the inspection due message comes up, I can’t do anything more as it goes back to the main dash display
  11. yes, that’s the method I’m using. when I toggle over to “Service interval reset” the service reminder interrupts this, stays on the screen for 5seconds or so and the. The screen reverts back to the main display regardless of me having the trip button pressed or not. I try to get to it as fast as possible and have it done before the service message comes up but can never get it done in time.
  12. I searched inspection due, found one thread where it was said that this is locked, but I don’t think it is so posting this question. This is doing my nut in. following the sequence to get the reset option on the dash. As soon as I have is toggled over to “Service Interval Reset” the bloody service reminder comes up with a loud audible ding of course and the menu reverts back to the normal display. No matter how quick I try. What’s the story with it?
  13. Yeah looks like I was unsure the model. Turns out it is a SE not an SE Tech. That answers that question so. Poverty spec car 😁 Imported UK car to Ireland SE on Logbook 20MY No Dimples Keyless start, start/stop, button on steering column No electric Boot Yes Heated Seats
  14. Another thing I noticed is that the car doesn’t lock on the first hit of lock buttons on any of the 3 key fobs. It always takes the second hit of the lock button on either Fob for the car to lock.
  15. Thanks for reply. SEL Tech I believe. Yeah that makes sense about keyless start and entry. I have have keyless start, but none of the keys open the car without the button. Heard of a lad up the road changing battery in his Fob and losing keyless entry on his Passat.
  16. 20 Superb bought recently. Original tag with the keys says KESSY. The last 2 VAG cars I had that had that on the tag had keyless entry. Dealer replaced batteries on all 3 keys before I collected it. Could the car have keyless entry but may need keys coded or re-paired to the car via the door lock ? Or is there a specific 3 digit code for Keyless that would be on the build sticker. Thanks
  17. I have a 2020 Superb. When I mute the sound of the radio or media by pressing the left toggle switch on the MF steering wheel something strange happens. If anyone talks in the car there is a strange echo. I can only describe it like the internal mic of the car is picking up the conversation and playing it through the speakers. The car has this large echo within it. The only way I can stop it is switching the HU off and on. Any ideas?
  18. Hi all, Currently have a MK2 golf with a 1.8t conversion i did a number of years ago. i really wasnt to DSG this car and i have a lovely R Line Passat Wagon that the woman wants to trade in. Only offering €1k for it. It worth far for than that, its very tidy a well maintained. So i’m thinking of putting this into the MK2 Golf. I’m at research phase at the minute and so if anyone here has come across a TFSI DSG or a TDI DSG conversion into a MK2 golf please post it below. I know there is a wealth of knowledge here and we are all dabbling with on breed of a VAG or another, so any info on previous builds / projects would be great. Thanks Tom
  19. Could you guide me towards a source ? Much Appreciated
  20. Traction control went on the blink a while ago Getting 01453 Brake Pressure Sensor Gonna cost me £400 to get the MK60 ABS unit fixed or £1000 for a new one. Rang all the scrappies, they don't have my particular ABS Part number My question is, Has anyone had this problem and got a 2nd hand ABS unit from the Mk5 platform to fit without much hastle ? Thanks Tom
  21. Evening lads I was hoping to get ye're advice in relation to an issue I;m having trouble with a 20vt conversion. I have the engine cranking and it's sending spark to all four plugs and its trying its best to start but i don't think the injectors are sending fuel in. I hooked up a pump, and i was getting fuel out of the return and pressure at the regulator. I wired in the diagnostic plug this eveing and received the following list of faults. I've included everthing i got, just in case there may be any symptoms of anything. P0238 Turbo boost sensor (A) circuit high P1237 Cylinder 1 Fuel injector circuit N30 open circuit P1227 Cylinder 3 Fuel injector circuit N32 low P1228 Cylinder 4 Fuel injector circuit N33 low P1226 Cylinder 2 Fuel injector circuit N31 low P1426 Evap system open circuit (Removed and will put resistor in) P1548 Solenoid Valve N75 open (not connected yet) P1118 heater circuit Bank 1 sensor 2 P1531 Intake camshaft control circuit P1432 Secondary Air Injection (Removed and will put resistor in) P1287 Turbo recirculating valve N249 (removed and will put resistor) P1501 Fuel pump relay J17 short to ground (I had no fuel pump connected) I just used a gallon of juice and a mk4 intank fuel pump and a seperate battery. P17931 Crash signal from airbag control unit (Expected) P1650 Missing message from instrument cluster (Expected) Was told to monitor pin 83 of the ECU . If the injectors were fueling correctly it should give 12V's and then drop to 1V , but i have a constant 12V Greatly appreciate your opinion and any assistance
