Hi! Nice to hear from you again :)

Jan and I are having a few days break in Guernsey. When we arrived at Guernsey Airport, there, in the main entrance area, was a Karoq on display. I had a quick nose around it and thought it looked pretty damned good!

With a bit of luck I'll be able to have a proper look at yours when you get it, so I'll be in touch again fairly soon to see if we can maybe meet up somewhere. Don't get *too* excited in the meanwhile!

      Best wishes to you both - J & K.

Yeah, a COLD Cornetto sounds like just the ticket. B)

We saw a Karoq too at Gardermoen Airport in Norway when we went over Christmas, had an AMAZING time.

Came back with the usual Norwegian woollies haha.  I could not make up my mind on which colour or design I liked best, so I came back with FIVE haha.

Have a GREAT time in Guernsey and we'll 'touch base' when you return, and we'll have the Karoq by then too.

  2. I've run two Yetis on the these wheels (for my winter tyre setup) - no problems whatsoever without spacers. Sorry to drop in so late with this comment - I've been out of action due to health problems.
  3. Skoda have just built my replacement (for a Muscovado 2010) Yeti in Muscovado! Am I boring or what? Its a like for like job, but with extra goodies (some of which were not available in the early days). Seems like they found some Muscovado paint somewhere...... So "no muscovado paint in the factory" was a serious dose of ****! Mind you, I haven't seen the new vehicle yet! I hope it doesn't turn up in bright pink....
  4. A 2013 Yeti Pantechnican (spelt right?)? I bet Clarkson has already thought of it....

    Waiting List

Mine would have been coming up for 3 years old in April 2013 - this is when I usually trade them in for another. Early enquiries at the local dealer revealed a wait of 6 - 7 months for new-builds. So, to be on the safe side, I ordered in mid August, with a Feb/Mar delivery in mind. Had a phone call recently, "car due for week 46 build". Phone call last week says "its built, and on its way to England - expect to take delivery in 2 weeks". Too quick!!! How do they always manage to wrong-foot you?
  6. Well, here's a good 'un!. Came back to England after 5 weeks away. Knew the washer bottle was empty, so filled up. Fluid poured all over the floor underneath from an obvious, serious leak somewhere. Bloody idiot, I thought, I'd left some ordinary water in the system, which has frozen and blown something apart. So I took it down to my local garage (they're very good) and asked them to investigate. They fixed it in an hour, refilled the reservoir, and charged £30 (inc VAT). But, here's the interesting bit........ The pump for the headlight washer was held in position by a cable tie placed all round the reservoir and the outlet hose of the pump. The cable tie had stretched, and allowed the pump to come away from the reservoir, thus causing the leak. This really should have been a waranty job! It is not possible to see this cable tie from above (looking into the engine compartment). It can only be seen from underneath, when the sumpguard plate has been removed. But when was it attached? I've had the vehicle from new, and had one dealer service. My local mechanic suspects it was factory fitted, knowing there might be a problem with the headlight pump becoming detatched (its a plug-in type fitting). Anyone have any knowledge or experience of this? If not, look out for it!
  7. Personally I have been unable to compress mine further so the above did not work for me. Perhaps its the leather seats. Just needs a bloody good shove - leather seats will go!

    Ice Warning

Mine does too! But I think mine is quite loud - at least as loud as the "please refuel" bong (which I've heard far too many times recently!).
  9. I've had a very happy last year and a half (22,000 miles) with a vehicle I've really come to love! I don't know if I've helped the sales figures but, like Armayeti, have proudly shown the Yeti to loads of curious strangers...... So, best wishes for the new year to all Yeti owners and patient, hopeful will-be owners!

    LED's

With the "resistor in series" design, if an LED fails the circuit is broken and no current will flow. The elec-tricks will spot this and flag a bulb failure as normal.
  11. Just caught up with this....wow! Best of luck whatever you do, and very many thanks for your contributions and help. Its good that you'll stay in touch!
  12. Sadly, there are reports of people being charged an "administration fee" by some insurance companies, and some other companies have not subscribed to the ABI commitment regarding winter tyres, so may still charge extra - lunatic!
  13. Thanks so far - there are some other Yeti ownwers with 4D tyres, we'll see what they have to say in "the fullness of time"!
  14. Here's my Yeti kitted up with winters - they're Spectrum alloys (from the Superb) with Dunlop 4D tyres. JR from Allams arranged the supply and fit brilliantly about 5 weeks ago. I notice both davecarter and LondonLes have the 4D tyres too; I'd be glad to hear their long-term comments (in the Winter Tyres section, of course!).
