Tracking - pulling to the left
Thank you Evolution13 for your input... much appreciated... and from what you are saying, ( Alasdair1 - seems to have missed this part... The car still pulls left on a straight and level motorway road, so it is nothing to do with "the camber".. ( I have been driving for 60yr so am aware of that effect ) ) it seemsto be "a trait" built in to the shape, and design of the front suspension mountings to cope with continental roadways. As an afterthought... my two previous Skoda Fabia`s (The first was a 1.9 tdi ( Fabia mk 1 ) .. and the 2nd one, being a 1.6 tdi of the same year as this one , both of them had the tendency to pull to the left. but it did not seem to be as "obvious" as on this one... Thanks again for the research into the earlier threads... I did do a cursory search but never found anything, so again.. much appreciate the efforts. Consider the thread closed now... Have a nice eveing, and a pleasant Sunday. cheers

Tracking - pulling to the left
Skoda Fabia 1.6 tdi Elegance Feb 2011... 64,000 genuine mile on the clock. I am third owner. Purchased from a car dealer in July 2025. I had my mobile mechanic give it a lookover, in preparation for the upcoming MOT near the end of this month. He advised me that both front lower supspension arms were coroding, and should be replaced. I commissioned him to do the work, as he has been looking after my Two previous Skoda Fabia`s for the past 15 yrs ... Before he started the work, the car has always had a tendency to "pull to the left"... indicating that the tracking was out...But.. I reported this to the dealer and he said he had adjusted it, but it remained the same... Note, there is not obvious tyre wear, as usually associated with out of line tracking. After my mobile mechanic compelted the work on the front suspension. he advised me to get the tracking checked and adjusted.. which I did.. at a very reputable local tyre service centre. BUT... it is still pulling to the left... The car still pulls left on a straight and level motorway road, so it is nothing to do with "the camber".. ( I have been driving for 60yr so am aware of that effect) This indicates to me that there might be another problem somewhere, but the tyre place could not advise me on what that might be.. Hence my appeal to all you guys out there !. Strangely, my two previous skoda fabia`s also pullled to the left, .. is this a "trait" ... SKODA FABIA TRACKING REPORT.pdf

Did fitting an anti-theft Isolation Switch mess up my power steering motor?
OK . Thanks Warriror193.. I was sceptical...but these modern cars are baffling in their ways... e.g. sometimes they show the glow plug light warning,... but it`s the brake lights that are faulty !.. Reckon the Auto Electrician would have warned me if he knew it would be a problem..but posted on here, cos I just needed to be assured by other skoda drivers. As far as I know the only "immobiliser" is in a chip in the key...so ... wrong key.. no start.. but the "naughty boys" find ways around this.. !.. Thanks Have a nice day.

Did fitting an anti-theft Isolation Switch mess up my power steering motor?
Previous car was Skoda Fabia 1.6tdi 105SE Local overnight parking is not good.. so I had an auto electrician fit a hidden switch as an anti-theft Isolation Switch... It worked well. But. three months later, I went to local shops. and after parking the car. when I returned to it.. the car started as normal, BUT the steering was very heavy.. Mechanic from garage across the road came and . got it across the road into the workshop, next day i got the report diagnosed the power steering motor had failed. Cost to get it back on the road £1500. As the car had done 140,000 and was "looking tired".. (although it drove well !.. and was otherwise well maintined... ) I opted to look for a replacement. Question is... Would the fitting of the isolator switch, have messed up the Power Steering Motor, after three months,.. or is this a "general failure" of this car? My replacement car is also a Skoda Fabia, 1.6tdi ELEGANCE.. model , 2011.. (Very Low Mileage) so I am considering getting the auto electrician to fit again the isolator switch.. BUT only if it is not associated with the previous Power Steering Motor Failure.
