  1. I was just about to change the rear interior lights in my SEL Fabia when I noticed the "0" end of the light faces the front of the car. In the you tube video the "0" faces the rear end the electrical connection faces the front. I don't want to lift up the wrong end. My car is fitted with the panoramic roof but I can't see how this would make a difference. Any suggestions which end I should attack first? John
  2. Ordered my Fabia SEL 110 DSG on the 20th 0f Jan 2016 and arrived at the dealers a couple of days ago - so about 2 months.
  3. Thanks for the info Allicia8. Did my wife's Citigo this morning - works a treat! John
  4. Hi All, I recently drove my wife's white Citigo and I noticed the noise of grit hitting the rear wheel arches. When you look at the car from the side you notice the white painted area behind the wheel, which stand out even more if you have black wheels. The car has to go back to the dealer to have its interior light looked at so I will investigate having plastic arch inserts and the area behind the wheel turned black! John
  5. Yep , using my winter tyres in "anger" for the first time today , getting my wife to work. About 5" of snow in my area - Nan SV2's worked perfectly. John
  6. Thanks chaps. Thats cleared that up ! John
  7. The Fabia manual says you should take the reading when the car is warm. I did this a couple of days ago and it was about half way up the hatched area on the dipstick - fine I thought. I took the reading today when the engine was cold and it just lower than the very bottom of the hatched area. I thought surely I cannot have used that much oil in 2 days I warmed up the engine and the oil level went back to the original level. You would think the oil would drain down and give a higher level with a cold engine! Does this mean you could easily over fill the engine with oil if you used the cold readings ? John
  8. Thanks for the link. Found my engine code - Located correct tyre size - thats the winter tyres I have fitted - printed out the page for reference, John
  9. Thats what I bought The 15" wheels DO fit the Fabia Mk2 vRS. John
  10. They look like these:- http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/15_Inch_Steel_Wheels_for_Skoda_Fabia__3545 John
  11. I bought the Nankangs. Not put them on yet but the tread seems substancial , about 9mm deep in places. The other thing I noticed is that they have to be fitted with the correct rotational direction - the marking on the tyre wall is very small and its easy to miss it. Probably fit mine mid Nov and remove end of March. John
  12. Getting a set of steel wheels for winter tyres saves damage to expensive alloys and elliminates any salt damage to the alloys. While the alloys are off I shall give them a good clean. John
  13. Received my winter tyres and steels a few days ago. ( 185 X 55 X 15" ) Went for the Nankang ones as they seem ok according to the reviews and are not too expensive. Tried one on today - it just manages to clear the disc brakes. The Skoda wheel bolts also fit the new steel wheels supplied by MyTyres. No problem with delivery from Germany. Plan to put them on in November ( no matter what the weather) and take them off in March. Got some 15" plastic wheel trims from Halfords in a sale - £15 - they also fit fine, John
  14. If your thinking of getting winter tyres - get them now before the first snowflake falls John
